Hi, I know lots of people have already posted about various forum problems, but no one's mentioned the one which I'm having, which is that the pages aren't fully loading. The headers and the symbols down each side aren't appearing, so that the pages continue to be loading until I click 'stop' in the top bar each time I move to a new page. Of course, I realise this isn't terribly important, but it is a little irritating after a while, and I thought I'd mention it in case it can be fixed with the rest of the stuff.

This may be an issue with your browser settings. However, please feel free to PM Greg if you feel you can ask him some specific setting questions OR over in member helping Members since have a number of Computer savvy folks who might be able to help diagnose your problems

I'm getting the same, my first reaction was lag, but i've emailed other people who use the forum and they've got no problems whatsoever. Seems its just a select few who are on laggy service routes.

I tracert'ed the forum, and after about 10 hops at below 30ms, (From Toronto to Chicago) the lag suddenly jumped up and i got a timeout.

I'm guessing it's server issues (as is the case with most new servers) so i say just wait a bit. But even before the new server i was getting lag issues with the forum ;(

I'm still awaiting an answer as to whether i can get my old account, or at least my post count and rep back at least this account will work for now.

we've already said, we'll be happy to restore as much as we can. If you can PM me or Tame with your approximate post count and rep count before the crash, we can restore them. And if we need to tweak your name to get it back to what it was before we can do that too.

Nope that rule is still in effect please report post that are quoting pictures and if you are a member in a thread please remind folks that they need to change IMG tags to URL tags when quoting

Hi! I have a question finding posts, based on who has been quoted in it.

Is it possible to view the list of posts that contain a quote made by one's self?

Basically, I'd like to see if one of my own post had been answered, (in other words : whether my post has been quoted in another post by someone else).

I know if I subscribe to a thread, I'll know if there are new posts in it, but it's not necessarily posts replying to mine..

So it's a bit like a "post follow-up" that I'm looking for, or more generally, a tool to search for a "quotee". (we can search posts written by someone, but we can't search posts in which someone else's post has been quoted).
I hope you see what I mean.

I answer now to my own question.

I tried searching for the term "QUOTE=Arga", and voilà, I found all the posts of people who have quoted me in their posts!

So, just do QUOTE=username

There was another server crash today, and I've (hopefully) tracked down the glitch, it's a kernel bug - which has now been patched (2.6.31-r6) and is going live on the server now.

It looks like no post data was affected this time, but a couple of users were trimmed - I am unsure why this happens.

Anyway, by the time you read this post (in about 1 hour) things should be back to normal.

greggy a few more accounts were wiped, including Teyilia. its showing the profile as Guest. just like it did with me.
