I was having a mini SG-1 marathon with my mom yesterday and one of the episodes was "Descent". The line when Jack is strongly encouraging Jacob to get the bulkhead door open because of "shrinkage" and Sam's subsequent look of disbelief/OMG did he just say that made me laugh so hard.

My mom just stared at me like I'd grown a third arm.

I had plenty of those moments with my own mother - she liked SG-1 but never really got it.

I've been watching stargate reruns on various sky channels and one thing I never really noticed was that those episodes which end on another planet and just fade-to-black really bug me. They feel unfinished and I miss those "welcome home, SG-1" gate room moments. There's so much character interaction/ camaraderie gold in them I miss them when they're missing.

I will give her credit - every time Jack came on screen, she would always say he's wearing tangerine lipstick, then noticed Sam had the same and decided they must be making out or something.

I have never been more proud of my mother.

This is true. There have been a few of those moments that were shippy as well, which makes them a little better. The main one that springs to mind is "Evolution Part Two", IIRC. That shared smile between Jack and Sam is one of my favorites. And another favorite, WoO. "If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try, try, try again." I still ROFL every time I watch.

Yep, so many shippy moments! I've noticed they also use them when they're avoiding dealing with consequences. For example at the end of Ascension re Sam jumping through Orlin's Stargate without permission.

I'm actually watching another episode now. Sky+ is a miracle.
I've finished drawing my sam and jack chibis now. They're not coloured but I can post the link to the photobucket album where the uncoloured pictures are. The coloured ones should be up there in half an hour to an hour too.
