Oh yes, haha, I'm fond of Jolinar too just for the direction she took Sam's character for a little while, and the way we found out about the Tok'ra's existence (it's just a shame once we met more of them I found most of the Tok'ra irritating lol).

Today's vote was a really tough one. The moment in The Nox is really cute, and it's nice to see Sam and Jack so unguarded for that brief moment that early on in the series, but their ease with each other in Continuum speaks of how far their relationship has come by this point. And there's definitely more to that "moonbase" comment than just work chat - look at Sam's grin and the twinkle in her eye as she says it So, after a lot of thought, I'm gonna go with Continuum (but it was a very close choice!).

The Best Shippy Moment is . . .

Season 1: The Nox - Sam makes friends with Nefrayu, but Jack tells her, "No, you can’t keep him" (7)

Continuum: Jack and Sam leave the Tok'ra extraction ceremony smiling and bantering about a "moonbase"(9)

Without a shadow of a doubt, yes. After all Janet was Sam's best friend. And, with Daniel being best man and all... Ok, ok so I'm a Daniel/Janet shipper too, I never really got into Vala as a character.

If Janet were still around I think Sam would've broken up with Pete sooner. Without someone to talk to about the situation I think it went on far longer because Sam wasn't forced to face it as quickly. Having said that (and don't kill me, guys) but I don't think Janet really approved of Sam/Jack ship. Primarily I think that's because she was worried about Sam's career but her warning tone in "100 Days" and with her poker face in "D&C" I think she would have been wary of encouraging it.

However, Janet in my fics is a HUGE shipper because, well she is Sam's best friend, and I think maybe we didn't see the more supportive side of Janet in that respect.

I'm a little on the fence with Martouf. I want to like him 'cause he seems like a nice guy, but I find him a little creepy as well. The whole fascination he has with Sam because she carries Jolinar's memories is what puts me off him. He is a bit too emotionally forceful because of that, I find, and his feelings and clingyness just seem misplaced as Jolinar has gone. If I was Sam I'd definitely find the way he acts around her a little overwhelming to say the least.

This is one of the reasons why I usually don't have Sam confide in Janet about her feelings for Jack in my fics. Simply because Janet is also an officer in the USAF and would be bound to report knowledge of inappropriate feelings or a relationship between 2IC and CO. In my world, Sam doesn't want to put her in the position of having to choose between their friendship and Janet's obligations as an officer.

Having said that, I do think Janet would approve of a relationship between them once they were out of the same chain of command. She knows there are strong feelings between the two of them and that they have been there for quite some time already, so if Sam would confide in her once Jack was out of her CoC (or while dating Pete and confessing her doubts) then I can see Janet encouraging her to pursue/wait for Jack.

I do love Janet, I hated seeing her killed, I just watched Heroes Part 2 and I really ached for Daniel when he is at the service, I just wanted to cradle him and hug him because he was going to miss her terribly!

Sam was fortunate to have her for a best friend, I would love to have a Janet in my real life!

I love the smirks on their faces in Continuum, I could watch that movie all the time except for the parts of watching Daniel getting the bad frostbite and the death scenes!
