Sam Carter/Amanda Tapping Discussion/Appreciation

As I sit and post, I have my dad's little chihuahua puppy sitting on my lap and licking my fingers...his name is Sam!! He's such a cutie!!...

i have a chihauhaha too. Sparky was supposed to be my mom's dog, but she brought it home and sparky spent her first day with me so kinda bonded iwth me.

so.....if sam had a dog, what kind would she have and why?

I know! My mum turned to me during that scene and asked me if it would ruin Stargate for me. All I could say was "M-m-martoof!"

This is the reason that I can't make up my mind if I want to see it or not. Knowing Amanda, and being old enough to be her mum, I see her in a different light to most of you. I know she's acting, and I'm sure she does a great job of the part, but I'm not sure I'd like to watch her behaving in that way - especially with JR!

hmm...if Sam had a dog, I think she'd have a Lab or perhaps a Golden Retriever. She doesn't strike me as the type to have a small 'toy' dog but rather being so active/adventurous/outgoing herself, she'd enjoy a dog that she could get out and have fun with in the water or on hikes in the mountains of Colorado.

Only drawback though would be that she spends so much time in her lab, any type of dog just wouldn't cut it for her cos she's not home much. meh.

I didn't think about Martouf for 1 second. Really. And I thought about Sam/ AT for the briefest moment, when she started talking and I heard her voice. But after that I just saw the characters they played.

The movie has impact, but I was very much able to seperate the character and the actress (and Sam for that matter). So I wouldn't worry too much. It's a sex scene, but they're hardly naked and it does fit the story very well. The final scene (Liz's monoloque (sp?)) had far more impact on me.

I think that Sam would choose to have a Border Collie (sheepdog) or an Australian Shepherd (like 'Oscar', Kinsey's dog - played by Zoe, RDA's dog), if she were not galloping about the galaxy. These are intelligent dogs that need plenty of stimulation and exercise. I think she would go running with her pet to keep them both fit, and would train it to take part in agility competitions.

Hey, you know, I just had an interesting thought about Sam - and what I'd like to see happen to her after SG-1 wraps up, whenever that may be.

Wouldn't it be neat if Sam at some point became the leader in Atlantis? I'm still not warming up to this Weir chick as I mentioned offhandedly in a previous post. How cool would it be for Sam to not only have a position of command, but to lead an ENTIRE expedition, hmmm???

Now, the Jack/Sam shipper in me doesn't like the idea because of the whole "being on the other side of the universe thing" (adding a new dimension to the phrase "long distance relationship")... but hopefully, travel between Earth and Atlantis will someday be something that could occur without someone being stranded somewhere.

Just a thought!

I really like your idea - Sam in command of the Atlantis group - that would be a great move for her. Unfortunately, I think the Weir fans would then become Sam-haters...oy! I don't think the long-distance relationship would need to be a problem - Jack could just retire from the Air Force and... say... be out with Thor or some such... and they could drop in whenever RDA was willing to make an appearance.

Oooh....I think Sam would have a Beagle....or maybe I've just always wanted a Beagle. But they have good temperaments and while they like exercise they're not so exercise needy as breeds like a Collie so would cope better with Sam's erratic shedule.

Steve desperately trying to make a pornographic film he has (which his girlfriend has seen by mistake) about women performing a certain, er, practice seem like an arthouse film in order to justify it to her and females present at the dinner table No swearing or anything, but references to things, so really adult or older teenager watching only. I was just reminded of it by that comment, don't know why...

I got my copy of Stuck today and watched it just a little while ago and wow it blew me away, I don't know how to describe what I felt when I was watching, it made me laugh, had me nodding in understanding, had me crying too (Liz's monologue) All the actors were amazing but Amanda and JR completely blew me away. This may sound crazy but one of my thoughts was, its good to see Amanda do something more 'adult' if that makes any sense?

A huge Thank You to Jan Sky and of course Mr Bourne for all their hard work to bring us this fantastic film
