Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
I noticed that with the arrival of Worf, that the first officer, namely Kira, gets sidelined more often.
Then yesterday, I got a flashback to Atlantis writing. I mean, every ******* episode of the second half of season 4 features either Sisko, Worf, Quark, O'Brien or Quark. Julian and Odo get some shine, and then Dax and Kira seem like afterthoughts -- "Oh right, we also had these two female characters."
<-- me wanting these two characters to be awesome!
DS9 writers: "But we have all these awesome male characters and females are hard to write for.
*snorts* Yeah, that was why I ended up getting bored with DS9 and dropping it. Same ol', same ol'.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon.Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.
A new house? Awesome! Is it a one-of-a-kind custom job, or is it part of a development/builder plan? Hope you're having fun picking out all the details and watching it come together!
Our house is part of a 55+ community on a lake. It has all the fun activities, clubs, gym, pools and a great restaurant. The best part is that our house is one level and we don't have to do any work outside. The HOA does all the yard stuff. We are moving from a county with 2 million people to a county with about 80,000 people so it's much quieter with no traffic. It's in horse and wine country which is just the cherry on top and even though it's about the same distance from my family, the drive is much more pleasant. The twins can't wait to come and go fishing even though they're not sure what that entails. LOL
We had our design meeting which took about 5 hours and I had a ball picking out stuff. We only went a little bit over budget also.

SR- congrats on the new house! Such a beautiful area. I love your twin tales. I miss my kiddo being that age. Good luck with the sorting. It can be so hard to let things go.

SWEET! That sounds very pretty indeed! Can't wait to hear all the progress reports! And LOL at the twins wanting to go fishing.

Or you don't let it go, drag it with you to the new place, realize you don't actually have space for it, and let it go after all.
True story!
How did you guess our ultimate plan? Everywhere I look in this house I see something that needs to be sorted. My dining room table and the floor are full of boxes full of stuff to be donated but looking around it's hard to see where it all came from.
I'm sure the basement in the new house will be full of things I can't part with. The fact that when you move to a newly built street people like Amazon and the places that come and get your donations can't find you until the GPS is updated is also a factor. We will be living in a construction zone for at least a year or more as our house is the first to be built on our street.

Ah, the non-existent street issue...
We have a different issue. Our neighbors and us are sharing the same housenumber, though theirs has the letter A at the end because the plot our houses were build on was originally one piece, which was dvided into two -- so same housenumber. We exchange mail on a regular basis.

Reminds me of our house in Huntington Beach. We were in the first phase (of four total iirc)...and there also were three other developers building houses (in different price ranges) as part of the same development. So there was a lot of construction going on for the next couple of years after we moved in. But it was really neat to be right there to see everything going up.

Welp, at least you're all good sports about it!

Hey, the site is back up!! Yay!!!!! I was afraid that it wasn't going to come back.
SR - love the thing 1 and 2 stories! I agree with thing 2 - chocolate is the priority. And good luck with the house building. One of my friends told me that having her house built was the most stressful thing.
Never happened. *sticks fingers in ears* *lalalalala*
Yeah, SGA ended with Season 3. Sunday didn't happen either, Carson was just back on Atlantis during Submersion.
