Sam: So are you ready?
Vala: Sure am.
Sam: What about the guys?
Vala: They think we are going shopping.
Sam: (laughs) They would, so got your helmet?
Vala: Yes I do, and now it's time for these girls to ride.
My sister sent me this link this morning and it brought such a huge smile to my face, I thought I'd share it with everyone.
Aww to find life so simple and amusing again. I just love babies! Babies
I'm sure Amanda would get a laugh out it too, as would Sam, so that's enough to stay on topic right?
LOL!!! that was so cute, amazing how such a simple thing as babies laughing can have an adult grinning to herself for ages after! Thankyou for posting such a lovely clip.
Wow...cool post..I agree with your sentiments Sunny!
I've never red rep'ed anyone or reported a post...ever...and I would like to think that I will never have to...ever...but I have to ask...when you reported a post about being off topic...did you first try addressing the issue with the person/people first or just report them? And what happens after they get reported...coz I have to admit...I'm now worried about all my OT'ness...coz I'm guilty of being OT at times...I hope it's not that annoying...
Anyhoo...Sam's a great character and Amanda is just so awesome!!!!!
Congratulations Mandy!!
Sanctuary day??? Did I miss something??? There's a Sanctuary day??? When????
"If this doesn't get the car started then nothing will!!"
Hmm in my case, I honestly didn't bother trying to discuss the issue with the person in question because they didn't seem like the type of person who would respond well to such behavior. I believe their comments were directed at an actor instead of the character they played and despite other posters tries to bring the topic back in line, they continuously drove it back to the actor, so I think in that case I reported it.
Perhaps I sound rude or uncaring, but I really have much better things to do than to sit and try to debate someone over a topic. Especially a heated topic with a person who seems unwilling to even open their minds to another person's point of view. To me, it's like banging your head against a brick wall and I get far too many migraines on my own to create forum-induced ones.
In most cases, I just read the first few lines of a post and if it looks as if it doesn't catch my eye, then I just move on. I don't trouble myself with getting worked up by someone's post or off-color remarks...to each his/her own. But on occassion, there have been posts that have annoyed me or left a bad taste in my mouth and in those rare cases I have sent pm's or left a comment regarding the post. Other times, I will offer my point of view on a subject and move on, never returning to a particular thread or topic. I figure, once I have given you my opinion, what more is left to say? My fandom is better than your fandom? My favorite character can kick your favorite character's arse with her eyes closed and her arms tied behind her back? It's all rather pointless when you really think about it. Some people may enjoy this type of discussion, I'm just not really one of them. I have to deal with children fighting with one another on daily basis and the forum is my place to come to escape from that type of behavior or at least it is on most days.
So I wouldn't worry too much about people reporting you for going off-topic unless you went on for quite some time about a non-topic issue. Things are rather lenient on this particular thread. People go OT quite regularly, but someone will eventually bring the discussion back to Sam/Amanda. I do think at times some people use this thread as their personal IM and on those occassions, I tend to just jump two or three pages ahead to avoid the discussion. Occassionally, several very good posts regarding Sam or Amanda are passed by as well, but if I'm really lucky someone will quote it later on and I'll read things I've missed later down the road. I've come across fic rec's this way. But overall, if you try to be kind to your fellow posters and just have fun, you should be ok in the long run -- at least that's been my theory on the subject.
