That would be cool--and maybe to get on "The Red List" you have to meet certain requirements--like you have to be recced by 1 panel member of each of the major Sparky fansites (CD, Sparky LJ comm, HERE, of course...any others you can think of of reputable dispute).

That means chosen representatives from all the major sites have to read/see your stuff, and it can't just be recced because you're friends-with-somebody-who's-friends-with-somebody in power or something.

In other words, it's hard to get on the Red List, but that's why it's the Red List. It's only the best.

I like this a lot! Holding fics and vids to set requirements for quality would really give the list some legitimacy; it'll tell people who will use the list to find good Sparky fanworks that great care and consideration have been taken to make sure that the pieces that get on the list are the best to be found.

Sparky line: SHEPPARD: I was just thinkin’ again – about Doctor Weir and everyone else on Atlantis.
It’s not the first time that he thinks about her. The reaction of my dad: “they (shep and teyla) are definitely not together. He is with her and thinks of another woman. But who is Weir?"
After my mom, it’s my dad who understands nothing. So I explain who is Weir and he said “Oh the woman with the pink shirt who talks about him (shep) front of her boyfriend?” Exactly dad.lol
SGC:
Hammond talks to Weir. A lillte Sparky line.

For the next part of the episode, I have nothing to say except: scene between John and his dead buddies (and his teacher, scene between Mckay and Weir. She never talks about Simon. Do you think she tells to John about Simon?
SGC control room:
They are all together. John is sad for his beer. Like said my mom “A real man”
I have a question. Did someone write a fanfic about this line: “SHEPPARD: When I think about the scenarios I could have thought up, I’d kick myself”

Elizabeth wants to go home. Yes Atlantis is her home. And again Sheppard understands her and speaks for her. "I think that’s what she meant" They are connected.
For conclusion:
Home is a good episode even if my parents understand nothing. lol My dad saw the thing between Sheppard and Weir but he doesn't like the show.
Good Sparky scene and Don S davis is awesome in this.

I warn you. We watched "The storm" and "the eye" and I spend my time to laugh.

Hmm, this talk about all the signs of Sparky friendship so early in Season 1 reminds me: When we get done with the post-a-thon (three more episodes to the end of Season 3, folks!), maybe we should do a "viewers' request" thon, with episodes featuring some of our favorite Sparky moments?

Soooooo...I have a pet project for people--or maybe it's been done, IDK.

SK and others always have these great fic recommendations, but I never have the time to read them right when they're recommended. However, on the days I do have time, I can never find the links.

I'm not a random fanfic reader, I generally always need to be pointed to a piece of fiction. Is there anywhere we can have a MASTER SPARKY LIST of highly recommended fics? Ones approved of and loved by Sparky readers, here, at LJ, at fanfic.net, Command Dynamics, etc?

This would be the creme de la creme of writing--well-written, thorough, good characterization. More than just one person would have to recommend it--the works would almost have to have a following, so to speak. Say, maybe, five different people recommending it, or tons of good reviews?

Is that possible?

A database or reference page with stories, pics, and vids would be kinda neat. Heck I'd throw in a little story. Brush of those (prize winning) fiction muscles. I never picked up on all the spark in "Home." Guess I'll have to rewatch it.

The eyebrow thing always reminds me of a pre-teen boy moment, kinda like: "she wants to have a 'word' with me. Alone." You know what that means!! Sex in closets! *snicker, snicker, hint, hint, wink, wink*. Just boys being boys.

For me that comfort vibe comes because of what Elizabeth's choice of him to join the team means. For Elizabeth, choosing him is a gamble--will his black marks make him an asset or a liability? But she also knows that he did what he did to help people, so she can sense the loyalty and good heart in him.

For John, I think it's a little different. He knows she chose him despite his black marks. He knows she trusts him quite a lot when she appoints him to the military leadership post after Sumner's death. Everything that became what he cherished in his life evolved from that one chance she gave him, and in the back of his mind that's always something that colors Elizabeth's character and makes her special. She chose him. She trusted him. For that, he would and will always be grateful. So inherently there is a comfort level with her he doesn't have with anyone else. She's in his corner, and he can always talk to her about it.

Even when he 'rebels' in THZ he does so because he thinks she's putting herself in danger, so he rebels against her to protect her, if that makes sense.

And as it's angst day, I'll add that it is that connection to her that fans out through all the seasons of SGA and in turn colors his character. His life took a different path when he stepped through the stargate, and she was integral to that path. IMO, anytime he reflects on his life on Atlantis, inherent in that will be that it's because she gave him a chance. She will always be tied to him.

Oh, that is an excellent analysis of Sparky! And so very very true. I don't really have anything to add to that, it pretty much said it all.


And I'm loving this Red List idea!

This reminded me of a fic idea I had quite some time ago - very similar to this. I didn't find it until tonight though - I'm trying to find a music vid I watched recently, and I'm digging through everything. Anyway, I found a file on my memory stick where I'd been writing down my story ideas. I didn't remember, but I'd actually written a couple of scenes setting the whole thing up. They're not that great (pretty dialogue heavy *winces*), but if you all are interested, I can post them, and then if anyone wants to run with it, they can. I didn't know how to fill out the storyline I'd set up.
