And now I'm going to drop something of my own... Here is a scene from my fanfic The Beast Within. While the fic is Magnett, this scene is for my teslen readers This is just a slice of the whole scene, as I haven't written it out completely... yet!

Nikola growled and spun her around, grabbing both her arms and pushing her back into the wall. Helen took a sharp breath and looked up at him with terrified eyes, quickly placing her hands on his chest as he closed the distance between them. Nikola bent down and Helen quickly turned her head to the side to avoid his lips. She bit her lower lip instead as he slowly dragged his fangs over her pulse point, moving so softly that it raised tiny goose bumps on her skin. He pulled back slightly and her breath hitched as he pressed a kiss where he had previously had his fangs.

“What makes you think,” He whispered, his hot breath against her throat sending shivers down her spine. “You are in any position to make demands?”

So...A LOT of stuff has gone on here and I really love all the discussion

To make it all short, I will say this:

1) Thanks to everyone who read the fic!

2) I LOVE the artwork, as usual!

3) On the subject of Nikola's conversation with Will at the end of the last episode, I do agree that

his line, "I don't think so," was meant to refer to Helen. I barely heard him say it, so I was kind of confused as to why he was being completely unconcerned about Helen's well-being, but now that I think about the convo, it makes more sense that he was probably talking about her. I hope that's what it was. Because when Will says, "We deal with it," Nikola looks more upset than if he hadn't discovered some big secret. He's like, "like HELL I'm going to 'deal with it,'" and storms off like he's uber-determined to find some way to save someone's life, not like he's uber-determined to find some random city in the middle of the earth.

Because, honestly, if he was THAT upset over the city, then he would NOT have volunteered to stand by the self-destruct machine in "Animus" while Helen had time to escape. If he was so concerned about learning the city's secrets, he would've been more worried about the thing blowing up and taking the secrets with it, not about Helen's safety. But he obviously wanted her to live, so that pretty much negates the idea that he was more upset about losing the key to the city. And, I mean, he even said that she should "get going" like her leaving and him blowing up with the self-destruct was the most obvious solution to the problem.

4) On the talk about Niko and Helen having such a complex relationship--how sometimes they're all sweet and flirty and other times they can't stand each other--I have one thought.

IT'S LIKE MARRIAGE, my darlings Honestly, they act like an OLD MARRIED COUPLE. (LMAO funny image of elderly Helen whacking cranky Niko with a cane ). One minute they're all lovey-dovey, and the next they're bickering with each other like it's the most normal thing in the world. My parents do that kind of thing all the time (not that they're old, I'm just saying ). The complexity of their interaction only further proves how perfect they are for each other. They flirt, then they fight, then an episode or two later, it's like the fight never happened. I mean, my grand-aunt yells at my grand-uncle all the time but they're so obviously adorable together. It's quite funny, really

Now that you got me thinking about it, I've rewatched For King and Country a few times now, you hit the nail on the head Mimzy. I can definitely see that as an action of Niko with his concern for Helen instead of just wanting to go to the underground city....
I got that same image in my head as well and it is funny! Eldery Helen beating Niko with a cane (thanks for the early morning laughter on that one )

Teslenites! *hugs* Long time no see. I've been occupied... elsewhere. Well, that and RL was a pain.

Okay, today's ep was so confusing, so I'm just going to outline it randomly to make sure I've got everything straight.

Spoiler:

Adam wanted to be part of The Five, but although Helen thought he was brilliant, they all thought something was off with him, so they wouldn't let him in the group. That, or she was just wary of letting the secret spread or something.

So, years later, Adam's daughter is dying. Helen & James try to help her, but she dies. Adam, b/c he has a personality disorder, freaks out and blames them, and decides to take his rage out on the entire city of London.

The government learns of this and appeals to the Five to help find and stop Adam. They refuse, but then the PM says he'll give them stuff, so they're like, okay.

So they go and stop the cyanide machine or whatever, and then keep searching for Adam b/c they actually think he might be a threat to society b/c they don't understand his disorder.

When they finally find him, Helen wants to help him, but he doesn't have control of himself and throws himself off a cliff. Helen thinks he dies. John finds him, they make a deal, and then John lets him float off in the river.

He floats off into the city and the avatars or whoever save him and give him that awesome technology. So he speeds up time to go take his revenge on Helen, purposely sends the random white creatures to probe Will's brain as bait, and then baits Helen into following him into the time rift.

So now Helen is dying and so is he, and there's a cure in the city and they have to find it or Helen will die. Will is pissed b/c he thinks Helen let Adam "die" to get her Sanctuary, but he also wants her to live. John is just randomly there, and Niko is like *I has the charter, screw it* and Henry is like *Tesla is so awesome!* and yeah.

Did I get everything right?

You can bet you did! Thanks, this actually helped me a lot when I read it, then rewatched the episode.

Anyway, the Magnitt stuff

really wasn't that bad. But I was really upset that Tesla didn't go bonkers over Helen dying and everything... He probably did off-screen, he just didn't want to show how concerned he was because he has issues with showing his real emotions.

I hope they get more fluffy time in the next few eps. It would be nice to show some more vulnerability again b/t the two of them, like they had in this ep with Helen & John (sort of). I want them to have their tender moments, too.

And honestly, I wish she was nicer to him. I seriously want an ep where he finally has a mental breakdown and they learn about his brother and everything and his and Helen's past friendship (b/c they obviously were really close) and Helen has to help him and gets to see him in a different way. I'd really love that.

And I do agree with what you've come up with so far.

I was sad at the lack of Teslen interactions - yeah, Helen and Nikola talked a bit to one another, but you couldn't convince me they would make a good couple on that episode. I think that's where I was disapointed. So far, every episode the two of them were in had snarky comments and at least one moment you could go 'Awwwww'. I know this was kind of suppose to be an episode between Helen and John on the relationship part (believe me, I know ) but that's never stopped them before. Think of the finale of season 1/beginning of season 2. Now, the whole Earth was in mortal danger, and they found time to do credit to both relationships. (IMO, of course!)

I too expected Tesla to go after Helen when she walked out on Will, and I was disapointed when he didn't do a thing. But I agree with what Sammie (?) said - about him defending her and the last line "I don't think so." being about Helen. I can totally see that! In fact, it makes the whole thing more right somehow.

And I believe bringing up the Sanctuary Charter was to help Helen - although tiny part of me thinks he hopes that whoever, or whatever, is in that city might also help him at becoming a vampire again - but I don't think it's his sole motivation.

(Oh my, I'm so a dual-shipper. Well anyway... XD)

Oh! And enjoyed the fanfics posted so far!

I'm happy to have provided such an amusing image for you But honestly. I can totally see old!Niko trying to mess up old!Helen's knitting by magnetically messing with her knitting needles, thus prompting her to yell at him and him to smirk cheekily at her and pretend that nothing happened.

As for when more Teslen will show up, I hope it's in the next ep, but I won't find out until later in the weekend/next week because I'm sacrificing Teslen for NARNIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA *ahem* this weekend and I have finals next week. Followed by MORE NARNIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA and packing for Ireland. Yeah.

I'm ready to present you with a timeline I did for The Five. I had told Mimzy I would post it here when it was done. You may read it here - at my WordPress. And I suggest you do. It's a prettier version. I don't have time to make it as neat here.

Thanks to CC, Artie and Mimzy for helping. If anyone feels like there's something missing, that you could specify something, please do. I'll update it as the show goes on anyway.

Sanctuary: The Five Timeline
150+ years worth of history

1. 1829: Birth of Gregory Magnus. His future wife will be Patricia Heathering.
(Justification: Helen said it in Warriors.)

2. 1851: Birth of Helen Magnus.
(Justification: Helen is 157 in Sanctuary for All, so 2008 – 157 = 1851.)

3. Somewhere between 1870 and 1885: Gregory Magnus shows his daughter his laboratory in the underground of his house in London, after Helen insisted a little.
(Justification: Transcript from Warriors-
Helen: You are the most talented medical researcher I have ever known and yet you keep your most important work hidden from the world. From me. If you truly believe that I have potential father, please, help me achieve it.
Gregory: Once you enter this door, you are on a path that cannot be reversed.)

4. Prior to spring of 1886: (although, not to far, so perhaps sometime near the fall of 1885), Adam Worth hovers around The Five. They don’t like him and think something’s off about the man. Helen goes to him to tell him their group is fine without him.
(Justification: In Revelations part I, James indicates that the spring of 86 is when Helen stopped aging – so when she injected herself with the source blood. As to that, the experiences they did must have happened before.)

5. Spring of 1886: Helen is injected with the source blood and stops aging. The others probably follow at some point in the summer – I’m assuming they waited for a while after Helen to see if the serum they made with the blood had any effects.
(Justification: See #1.)

6. Between 1886 and 1890 (events in no particular order):
- Gregory Magnus hides the Source Blood.
- He works on bioengineered abnormals.
- Gregory will disappear on an expedition to Mecca, leaving his work into the capable hands of his daughter.
(Justification: In Warriors, Gregory – as Charlie – says he’s going on 61. So, I’m assuming he disappeared around the same age, or a little before that, in the past. Since he hid the Source blood, it had to be after The Five’s experimentation, so somewhere between 1886 and 1890 – he is born in 1829, so will be 61 in 1890.)

7. Between 1886 and 1889: John is ill/injured/something we barely know about, but know happened. Helens gives him her blood so he can survive – stopping his aging as well.
(Justification: In Sanctuary or All part II, Helen tells Will she gave John her blood to save – and prolonged – his life. In the flashback seen in the beginning of Kush – their engagement – he thanks her for saving his life. Therefore, I’m to assume this took place after they injected themselves with the blood, but before their engagement –which could have happened anytime after the experiments and before the last Ripper murder in 1889.)

8. Between 1886 and 1889, but after #7, in winter: Helen and John get engaged.
(Justification: See flashback at the beginning of Kush.
We’re assuming in winter, from John’s overcoat and the play (London theatres closed in the summer and reopened late in the fall in that era), of 1887 or 1888 – because it would make sense for them to have a long engagement, as he would be expected to have a house when they married, and would need to save the money to buy one, or at least to rent them something nice.)

9. November 1889: Last murder of Jack the Ripper in Whitechapel. Helen is there and shots John – he flees. Not long after, Helen freezes the embryo of her unborn child.
(Justification: We know the place and time of the last Ripper murder and we’ve seen in a flashback at the end of Sanctuary for All part II that Helen was there. Plus, I’m assuming from her reaction at seeing him again in For King and Country that she hasn’t seen him between 1888 and circa-1910.)

10. Circa 1900: Adam Worth’s daughter, Imogene, is dying and he asks for Helen’s and Watson’s help.
(Justification: See flashbacks in FK&C.)

11. Circa 1910: The Prime Minister and the King of England blackmail The Five into helping them arrest Adam Worth, who had been plotting to kill thousands of people in London with a toxin. Order of events seen:
- The PM asks The Five to eliminate Adam;
- Helen and John walk together on the bridge;
- The Five discovers the cyanide (is that right?) machine;
- Helen shoots Adam in the shoulder. He lets himself fall off the cliff and into the water. John zorts in and makes a pact with Adam. In exchange for location of safe houses, weapons caches and other things to help him avoid capture, he lets him ‘die’ in the water – or so he thought. In fact, Adam floats to the city underground and they save/revive him.
(Justification: See numerous flashbacks in FK&C.)

12. Somewhere in-between: Griffin dies, leaving behind a daughter – and later a granddaughter – who inherited his gift.
(Justification: See Revelations part I.)

13. 1943: Helen fakes Nikola Tesla’s death as a favour to him because every major spy agency in the world is looking for him.
(Justification: See The Five. Plus, the real Nikola Tesla died in 43.)

14. 1944: Helen is in Normandy for the invasion.
(Justification: See the discussion she has with Kate at the beginning of Hero II; and probably episode 3×17 – Normandy.)

15. 1985: Ashley’s birth.
(Justification: Ashley is 23 years old in Requiem, in 2008. Therefore, I assume she was born in 1985.)

16. 2008-beginning of 2009: Events related to The Five in order of appearance on the show:
- John Druitt finds out about Ashley and comes back to haunt Helen after 100 years.
- Nikola Tesla makes an appearance into Helen’s life after 60 years without contact.
- The Five (minus Griffin, but with his granddaughter Clara) is reunited for a mission to recuperate the bottle containing the Source Blood. In the aftermath of that mission, James Watson dies.
- Ashley’s death.
(Justification: See Sanctuary for All part I & II; The Five; Revelations part I & II; End of Nights I & II and Eulogy.)

17. 2009: – Nikola Tesla is no longer a vampire, but has now magnetic powers.
- Helen discovers that a creature has taken John as a host and might be responsible for the Ripper’s murders.
(Justification: See Sleepers and Haunted.)
