If you're reffering to the rail gun damage done to the first two Asuran ships, that's because they caught the Asurans with their shields down (shields are for emergencies only - they cannot afford the power drain of keeping them up 24/7). After the first two unshielded ships exploded at multiple points, a Hive launched their darts and as the darts do a fly by you see that their shields are now up on this ship and you see the shields up on all Asuran ships seen from that point on.
I was talking about 402 - Lifelines. Apollo used Railguns against the Asuran cruiser that attacked the Jumper whan they were leaving the planet. If they are the same, they didn't do as much damage as on the Asuran Auroras after the shields were up.
They didn't have drones - They used the same rigid energy beams that we see them use in Be All My Sins Remembered.
In 410 - This Mortal Coil , the "beams" were not travelling in straight line... Since it defies usual laws of physics, I assumed they were drones. BTW in the same episode the Auroras did have drones too.....
La vie est une tragédie - Tout le monde meurt à la fin.
L'Histoire est une comédie - Les gentils gagnent toujours à la fin.
and they did have lesser quality ships. malozzi confirmed it. otherwise, how else can their ships be that crap, while still beating wraith????????????????
Logically Asurans=Ancients in tech, but they can build much faster.
I believe the Asurans 'learned' from the Ancients mistake and stop using ZPMs in their ships.
The Wraith, like I said when the first clone episode was made, must have used ZPM's for making ships far far faster (as Seed suggested). Having stolen ZPMs, the Wraith breeded fleets of ships, not just 10's of millions of clones.

But even at the end of the war, when the Lanteans were no longer using ZPMs on their ships, they could still win every battle, just not the war. So they must have been able to beat hive ships anyway. Joe M.'s comment resolves this issue without contradicting canon.

I haven't seen The Seed, so can you explain what you mean?

I agree, why else would Todd take a ZPM out of the city, instead of the deserted ship, because that would be faster.
I believe the Asurans only use them in city ships and for their city, and for constructing vessels.
well, if its shields are down you could use the beaming technology, but if its shields are up you would have to first disable the shield and then either beam in or fly into the puddle jumper bay.
seeing BAMSR, i doubt it would be hard to disable an aurora
Ancient Aurora >> Asuran Aurora
Robert Jastrow (self-proclaimed agnostic): "For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries."
In that case I doubt the Asurans put ZPM's on their ships, if they had even their weaker versions should have had enough power to wipe out our fleet.

and it makes me think. what if the Asurans never made MORE ZPM's? the three atlantis had should've powered it for thousands and thousands of years. the Asurans had even more. the ones they made 10 000 years ago should have been enough, even for 10 000 years into the future.
the Wraith more or less put them to standby mode, so what if they actually DID do NOTHING for the past god-knows-how-long years. not building ZPM's, not maintaining everything, just walking around and... thinking.
the best reason i can give for their crappy performance is still the same.
1: using earth's knowledge of Ancient technology, and using previous experience with the asurans and replicators, everyone was well-informed on combat matters and tactics and how to fight them
2: repliweir and her faction, knowing that this was their one shot, worked from the inside, weakening the Asurans.
3: the asurans, churning out some 30 to 60 Aurora's in a few days, used mediocre materials like iron in their design, and not superhigh-quality materials like the Asgard and the Ancients use.
4: due to their lack of ZPM's (all were needed for their city) their ships had none
Alsp perhaps incomplete or old specifications to the reasons why they sucked.
Its interesting that the Asurans were suposedly kicking Wraith butt yet from what we saw in BAMSR they struggled to destroy more than a single Hive with a massive numerical advantage. I have a hard time believing an Asuran Aurora could take on a single Hive plus a couple of escort Cruisers let alone be capable of 'winning almost any battle' against the Wraith.

actually, we already saw earlier that Asuran aurora's were not as powerful. not sure which episode, but essentially, we see the remnants of an asuran-wraith battle, and asuran debris is among the debris.
