Problems with a GateWorld Ad? - Provide Ad DETAILS

Just came out of the Chicago Con Thread, hit the Forum link and got a pop up from the ad that was appearing on the top of the page. It crossed out three items (Sorry but it very late here.) I had to wait for the ad to finish before I proceeded.

Appreciate your attention to this matter.

The Allstate insurance ad was up when that damn opinionmart popup popped up.

I finally got that Allstate Ad and nothing happened in my browser ... I didn't get a popup and as far as I can tell nothing has stopped working ...

I'm using Safari. I'm a Mac running 10.4.7

Hmm... OS/browser could be part of it. I'm running Firefox 1.5.0.6 under WinXP and I got the popup with that ad.

I'm betting that's it. If I was to be running Firefox I'm sure I'd have more problems.

Yeah, thats kinda how I am to. An ad here and there is ok. I understand the money issue. But if a company like say "circuit city" keeps pissing me off, then I will just refuse to buy the product at all. I figure if they keep jamming it down my throat, then that just turns me off to the product and I won't buy it just out of spite for the company.

I think i can confirm that the survey ad is from all state every time i get the survey the all state ad is on the top of gateworld

There's a new "Halloween" ad or something, I didn't really look at it in detail I just noticed that clicking on My Controls did nothing. When I scrolled near the ad it opened up and covered all the way to the My Controls bar.

Oo there it is again. Uh, Halloween. ABC.

Very annoying.

Yeah, I don't know if that ABC family/Corpse Bride/Halloween banner ad is still around, but it was pulling that trick of locking out any of the links on that page.

And I just saw that flashing, bouncing "College girls" ad, which could be seen as offensive, irritating as hell, or both.

Yeah, I'll repeat the complaint about the College Girls ad here. It's jittery (which gives me a headache) and seems to be advertising one of those stupid "girls gone wild" type porn/party vids. Not exactly PG material.
