I haven't been around for yonks and all of a sudden there are friends things and I suddenly can't find how to send private messages.

If you look under My Controls on the left hand side there's a Control Panel and about halfway down there are options for Private Messages, including Send New Message.
Or when you're viewing a thread like this one you can click on a person's name and find "send a private message" in the drop-down menu.
Or if you're on a person's profile page, right under the name/rank in the deceptively innocuous gray bar (and right above last/current activity) there's a link to "send message."
I think that covers most of the options.Comment

Am I just not seeing this or what? Is there any way to have the posts in the Social Group threads appear in an "oldest first" order? You can reverse the order if you want in the regular forum threads, but I don't see where you can do this in the new setup?

Lythisrose : I can't find anything to help you change that either.
Repost your q in the Updates thread or Ask The Mods if it hasn't been changed to the usual chronological order by the time you get back to the forum.
I know Darren is keeping a close eye on those two threads and he's been busy adding and tweaking other things all w/e .He's still looking for crit and feedback so it can't hurt to ask there .
