It's 'Lost' on a spaceship instead of an island. . . Hopefully, they'll keep the same background characters in SGU. Lost always seemed to pull another one that we'd never seen before out of the jungle when they needed one to kill.

I wonder how the show is going to turn out. In my opinion, usually the series stray off their original promise pretty quickly. For example, early SG1 had a lot of exploration of other cultures (ones transported from Earth or alien), but quickly strayed off to focus more on action episodes. I also thougth that Atlantis strayed off of its original course of exploration of Atlantis and battling the Wraith. Really curious about the new series.

I've been pretty happy with how the VFX have evolved over the years. The Stargate peeps have done real well.
