The asgard worked with the ancients many years ago - if they had this technology would they not of helped the anchients long before.

Wouldn't they have used it when we first encountered the Ori ships? I guessing the weapons are a new development

So how can the Ori trace the Asgard technology? Do they have Asgard power generators if the ZPM ever runs out (which they have an enourmous tendency to do so in the Stargate universe)

Yeah, the entire race committing mass suicide would have included Hermiod, unless as a whole they really didn't like him.

I noticed most of the show's production crew were those who were beamed down during the episode... a nice touch of artistic licensing there It was a very funny episode despite the main plotline -- I gotta say I was not happy at all about the situation with the Azgard.

However, we have encountered Ancient time devices before, so there is always the possibility we may find another... and be able to help them undo what they did that sealed their fate.
