Well by the "it isn't their business argument" you could also say that it really isn't the ancients business to shelter us from a potentially stablizing force as the ori.

Or as an example, if a colony of ants just minded their own buisness the whole colony would fall!

Which is probably what is going to happen as Daniel explaied in The Pagasus Project, the ori are going to wipe us out because the ancients don't help us and then move on to the ancients themselfs!

What if Daniel was a supporter of the Ori while he was ascended?
Maybe this would explain why...

But wasn't the human's existence in the Milky Way shielded by the Ancients from the Ori's knowing? Also how could have Daniel been a suporter of the Ori during his ascended period if the Ori sap the life force of lowers via worshipping? Daniel is not the type who wants to be worshipped.
