I just ordered my ticket. It'll be my first convention away from Vancouver. Now I just have to jump through the hoops to get a passport. Fun times.Comment

Normally preferred goes on sale in late winter or spring. It went up last year with nothing new added to the package and more than likely the price will go up again this year (Gold jumped up). Depends on whom else signs up whether or not I go preferred. I am leaning going General I have seen the guests before & if they add any SGU it would be a waste of my money. Hi everybody!!!
I'm a big french fan who plan to go at this last Stargate event.
I never went in USA for a convention & wish to make at least one, in my life.
The airplane tickets will cost minimum $1680. So, to avoid that this trip ruin me, I'm looking for a generous fan living in Chicago & planning to go at the event too, ready to host me. I'm however willing to pay a few dollars for the service. It is also a more nice solution to be between fans, instead of be cloistered in a hotel.
The fact is that I wish to stay 2-3 days before the event to have time to visit the wonderful & historic city of Chicago.
Nothing is sure at 100%, but I just start now to look for solutions (transport & lodging) & the finances before to buy tickets.
Hope I will find solutions here.

Why buy props if its only for our eyes, and for that they stay on a wardrobe or take dust?
May as well give them a second live, to use them on fan-films and exhibit them for our's and fan's pleasure!

Well, I'm coming to Chicago!!! Bought my ticket and booked the hotel room!
I couldn't miss the final N.American Stargate party! It will be wonderful to see some of you again, as well as the lovely guests! I hope a load more guests decide to come join the final fling and we get a good balance of guests from all 3 series'!
I'll just be staying for 4 nights so I guess there isn't really much time for any sightseeing. Unless anyone can suggest what can be done in between con times.
I'm glad I finally got my passport sorted out, I can make sudden crazy decisions like this!!

Going to our nearest passport office with the completed application forms and photos obviously helped, going first thing in the morning was a good idea too. We queued up about 15-20 mins before the office opened and there were only about 10 people before us.
