And I'm afraid to me pants will always be undergarments and as such any use of the word "pants" will make me giggle like the immature little child that I am.

pants are "undergarments" to me too.. as are trousers. I know, its some seriously flawed logic. But it makes sense in my head.

Immaturity never hurt anyone.

(Unless it involves trying to spar like Shep/Teyla do and failing with style. But even then, laughing gets rid of the pain. )

Well, of course in the UK, they're trousers. However, as I write a little fic, I use pants for that. Pants also sound sooo sexy.I really need help....
