I tell you Teal'c, hockey is the coolest game on Earth!

Did you not say it is played on ice, O'Neill?

You have outdone yourself again. I'll just have to say that I couldn't tear my eyes away from John's arms in that scene in the cell, and on the one with Elizabeth looking at John's butt, I think he knows.

While we're on the subject of some random scenes, I was rewatching "The Eye" and noticed something new. It's the scene toward the end in which John and Ford are watching the Genii leave Atlantis with stolen supplies. John must see Elizabeth and Rodney with them, because he says, "Change of plan." He moves to a better position, and then tells Ford, "You've got McKay."

Now... am I overreacting here, or do those three words scream Sparky? My reasoning: John had thought Elizabeth was dead until less than an hour ago, and now, he sees her about to be taken away by Koyla. He knows that Ford can take care of the Genii surrounding Rodney, but he only trusts himself to save Elizabeth and make sure she is safe and all right. If you rewatch the scene and observe John's eyes, you'll also notice how concentrated and intent he is and how he's not about to let Koyla go with Elizabeth.

Then again, this scene could just be interpreted as John just doing his job as a soldier and devising a new strategy so he can save his people.
I like this idea. Knowing she was alive changed everything, and only he could rescue her.

^ Seconding this. Headcanon officially approved!

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

When he says to Ford “You’ve got McKay” he is already with his eyes on Elizabeth. I would actually say that John wasn’t able to take his eyes off Elizabeth once he sees her being taken by Kolya in the direction of the Stargate. I mean, and like you said, an hour ago Kolya told him Elizabeth was dead, then he found out she was alive. Now that he set his eyes on her, no way he is going to let her out of his sight or let anyone take her away from him/his sight.

It really changed everything. One moment he was trying to turn off all the naquadah generators and do everything he could to make Atlantis not have power in order to stop the Genii, and then suddenly when he knows she is alive, he has to hurry to put everything back in order so that the Genii will not hurt her.

Not to spoil your Sparky-fun, but that's merely what a senior officer would do, right. Elizabeth's the most important person in that equation as the leader of the expidition, and while McKay isn't entirely useless to the Genii either, Ford is tasked to save him from his faith as labrat.

              Different eyes see different things.

I think most of us here on this thread prefer to see things through Sparky eyes than with objective eyes. At least i do, most of times.

                  Agreed. Objectivity is highly overrated.

In what concerns Sparky, I tend (most of times) to overlook objectivity.

And I appreciate other perspectives, but here on this thread i think what really counts is what we see with Sparky eyes.

So, what you're saying is I should comply or die? Or in this case shut up and take my perspective elsewhere...
