Yeah, I did too! I've been wondering about this as well when I watched it. Thought as a second in command he should have some screentime now Shep was gone, saving him and all But who knows, maybe conflicting schedules or something..

Yep. I'm always thinking that on various episodes. But occasionally I get caught out when some other marine is doing what Lorne should be doing and he gets killed ! Relief. Glad it's not him then.

It really bugged me because McKay got to 'step up' and be the hero. It just seems really unlikely that McKay would suddenly become so 'military-ish' at least to me. I mean at least in Sateda, they had the 'fake' major. I'm glad when some other military guy is doing Lorne's job and gets killed but when some other guy is doing Lorne's job and saves the day? Not so much.
