Narnia 3 shoots
Twentieth Century Fox announced that The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the third installment in the epic series of films based on the best-selling books by C.S. Lewis, began principal photography on location in Queensland, Australia, on Monday; the production, a joint venture between Fox and Walden Media, continues the franchise that commenced with the 2005 release, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Voyage of the Dawn Treader to reboot Narnia franchise
With filming on The Voyage of the Dawn Treader now underway, producer Mark Johnson has stated that he sees the new film as the start of "a whole new franchise."
Based on the third published novel in C.S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia, Dawn Treader sees Edmund and Lucy Pevensie return from the first two stories, joined by their cousin Eustace Scrubb and Narnian Caspian on a quest to the end of the world.
Comparing the story to Ray Harryhausen films like The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, Johnson said, "It's a slightly different look... They go from island to island having adventures."
He also revealed that in common with original director/producer Andrew Adamson, the aim is to make a movie based on the "recollection" of the book, rather than a straight adaptation, noting that "Lewis left, sometimes major battles, on a single page, so Adamson just re-imagined it."

Right now I have yet to read the Last Battle. I'm having the same problem when Deathly Hallows was released. I wanted to know what happenes next in the series. But I didn't want the series to end. *g*C.J.

Aye, saw the trailer when we went to see Toy Story 3. Saw a huge cardboard poster thingy in the lobby as well. I hadn't even heard they were making it. But I'm definitely happy, and was hoping and hoping they would continue.
I read the book maybe last year? I don't remember everything that happened - but the trailer looked like a very different imagining. I didn't even see Prince Caspian - as he is the main character captaining the Dawn Treader. Lucy and Edmund and Eustace are secondary main characters really.
Either way, I'm just happy to have something coming.
