they should be focusing on how t beat trump in 2020, instead their actions in things like this only makes more americans hate them. they have no focus, and seemingly no concern, for those americans who voted for trump (i didn't btw)

I don't think the Democrats have a prayer of knocking Trump out at the voting booth. People vote their pocketbooks, and the economy is doing VERY well, unemployment is down, jobs are up, wages are up and a number of other positive signs.

Add to that the Democrats are very likely to torpedo themselves this time around, just as they did in 2016. If they run a socialist, they're dead. And the Kindergartner is going to be sure everyone knows what a socialist wants this time around. She and her ilk might just flip the House back, too.

Political witch hunts are the only way they hope to knock Trump out of office.
Their agenda doesn't resonate with much of the US, and they know it.

That's why the US needs a true politician such as Bernie or AOC free of political cockblocks. Bernie's got his own team and all he just had to declare Democrat for bureaucracy sake lol.

the main problem is that our Constitution, as currently written and amended, does not expressly forbid the people voting themselves largesse from the federal treasury, leading to the people voting for the politicians who promise them the largest payout from the federal treasury

if there could be an explicit amendment written into the Constitution that expressly prohibited this....I bet that would greatly minimize all this corruption

The original version of the Constitution did have a provision to take this into account, the requirement to be a landowner to vote. Granted, that's not ethical in today's society, where many people rent.
I would like to see it brought back in the form of "you must be employed in or retired from the private sector, or police/fire/military in order to vote". The idea is that you must be pulling the cart, not riding in it to have a say in where it goes.

No sh*t it's not ethical, you're advocating to leave the power in the hands of the establishment. Look at a few demographic stats and you'll realize the US doesn't have many in the middle class you're in, either people are poor or rich.

Rich or poor, I don't care. As long as you're supporting yourself and not on the taxpayer's dime, you should get a vote. As I said, if you want a say in where the cart goes, you should be pulling it, not riding on it.
