A lot of things about this ep bugged me. I loved the idea of Teal'c trying to live off base but the plot w/the neighbor was trite and predictable. Really got tired of Miss Krista's exposed abdomen and didn't care for the soft-core porn posing as a training montage. Although I can see how her predicament triggered T's protective instincts, the hopping in bed seemed a bit OOC. Not against the big guy getting some, but all things considered the whole situation seemed a bit inherently exploitative even though she initiated. Just doesn't quite fit with the whole honor thing that's supposedly such a core part of the character. Mabye I'm supposed to think he was just offering comfort in the most basic possible way but it still left a bad taste in my mouth. Also, Teal'c, buddy, if you think you were being followed last night maybe look through the peephole in the door before opening it. Just sayin'
Other stuff I had issues with - Carter's convo w/Pete in the park made me want to throw things at my laptop. Someone w/her rank and experience openly talking about anything related to'Area 52' in a crowded public place was completely absurd and made the character look not just incomptent but like a flat-out liability. Kinda like making out in the warehouse - unbelievably unprofessional.
Not digging on that relationship overall. Haven't forgiven him for his actions in Chimera, not just the stalkeresque stuff but jeopardizing the stakeout, which was also incredibly unprofessional. But now he suddenly is picking up vital clues (like the poor staging of the body) that other cops can't see. Sam's just coming across as weak and wishy-washy to me. Hated the scene between her and O'Neill in the lab. I hoped 'Grace' was going to provide some closure to the whole unrequited thing between them but it just keeps being brought up. Not trying to bait shippers or anything (lurked long enough to know that's suicide ) but I personally don't like the way it's being handled. I don't want SuperSam, I like seeing the human side to the characters, but it's getting repetitive and seems kinda one-sided at this point as it's always Sam bringing it up. Just my opinion. To be fair, I don't know if RDA's acting is a factor here. I love the guy, love the character but the as the show goes on he does seem to be phoning it in sometimes. Again, just my opinion.
The new bad guys could be interesting, could be just more of the same, will have to wait and see. Liked the coffee cup shot

Thought that was an interesting if disturbing way of framing it.
Right. That's it. Off to the grocery store to pick up some of these weaponized avocados I've been hearing so much about lately.
It's fair to not like everything about the episode. There are certainly things to criticize. A couple of thoughts reared their ugly heads while I was reading your posts.

The only exploitation was Krista exploiting Teal'c, unless you think women are exploited when their sexual desires are fulfilled. Krista was very much in charge. She drove the relationship's progression from neighbors to sexy workout partners to actual sex. Frankly, I don't understand how they didn't end up in bed after that sexy, candlelight workout. Teal'c was the passive one throughout. "Teal'c, will you clean my pipes?" "Teal'c, will you teach me your moves?" "Teal'c will you take me somewhere, anywhere?" "Teal'c, will you f*** me?" (Okay, that last one wasn't spoken out loud.) Remember, Teal'c didn't know that Krista killed her boyfriend. He just saw that she was distraught, yes, and did as she directed. As always. And in Krista's defense, it's not uncommon to seek solace in another's arms.

Well, yes if it was a common occurence. They were behind the SUV, and she'd just agreed to marry him. Kind of understandable, IMO.

I hoped 'Grace' was going to provide some closure to the whole unrequited thing between them but it just keeps being brought up.
Don't know the writers' reasons, but I'm glad it kept being brought up. Carter is the only member of the team that hasn't experienced a long-term relationship. Teal'c is/was married with a son, Danield was married. O'Neill was married with a son. Carter seems to have had only short-term relationships. Why shouldn't Carter experience the companionship that her closest peers have?

Those were the ones that popped out at me. I'm not jumping on you sarcoptic. Some of what you said is fair enough.

Oh, I disagree with the anti-feminist interpretation. Anyone with hth combat skills can accidentally kill an opponent, maybe especially someone who has no experience using them in real situations. I don't see any message against empowering women.

Okay. I too am off to buy some of those weaponized avocadoes

Does somebody know the name of the soundtrack while Krista and Teal'c practice Lok'Nel?

I think maybe Daniel should have pushed the envelope a little more saying how if they killed him there, who else would help them translate. Also, no punishment for Krista??? I got all emotional a little at the end with Carter saying, Yes a lot

It was actually Pete talking about specifics of what kind of work Sam did; she didn't say a word about her work. However, she should have at least shushed him and told him not to talk about it in public like he was trying to do.

Probably an avocado. A kiwi wouldn't have done much damage, except by getting squished.

Watching this now and had to pause because I'm currently trying to get over the fact that Teal'c just took down a runaway thief with an avocado.

              An avocado.

I'd love to know whose idea that was.

Maybe it wasn't ripe. Unripe avocados are quite hard.

This is true. I found some in the market the other day.

What I'd really like to know is exactly how this was suggested. Like..

"How should Teal'c take down the guy but not chase after him?"

"I dunno... Uh, he throws something? A rock? And it somehow hits him in the head? Nah, that could kill him."

                  "What, then?"

"How about food? Maybe from a food cart or... No, no. Shopping. Groceries. Apples?"

                  "Ehh."

                  "Oranges?"

                  "Too soft."

                  "Pineapple?"

                  "Funny."

"Wait, wait, I've got it... Avocado."

There's a scene where he takes out a thief with a thrown can of food.

Of course! I was always trying to think where I'd seen something like this before. Crocodile Dundee was a great movie!

This movie just brought to mind the scene with Donk....Jack and Teal'c in a tight spot.....

                          "I don't need a gun, I've got a Teal'c!"
