I enjoyed re-watching this episode. I've not always been a fan of the replicator story line, but I do like the character interactions. I thought this scene was funny:

FRAISER I hear it took them a lot longer than they thought to set up the second Gate.
DANIEL Err yes, they finally got it running yesterday, technical difficulties or something.
FRAISER They needed Sam's help huh?
DANIEL Yes, it's…uh…it's ironic that she's not here to save herself.

Interesting Easter Egg.

In the beginning of the episode, where two Russian sailors check the tube. (Oddly enough, one was speaking Russian, and the other Ukrainian.) Right before they open it, following conversation takes place.

- What can it be?
- Maybe it's the bug from last episode.

No, one was speaking Ukrainian other Czech or Polish more precisely on Trash language similar to those languages, but where they really talk and not imitate the speech they say these words.

Well, I don't know about the one Sam bit into, but all the others WERE colored styrofoam. They were auctioned off on Ebay several months ago and I think the tray, with the "food" cubes went for a bit over $200.

In Japan selled those cube. Energic waffers or .... do not know as this name. But this absolutely not edible for Europeans. Or maybe this is kombu.
