I can't add anything to this, but I've read those comments before - by both AT and RDA - but I don't remember where.

I still have DOS 6.2 boot disks that I was forced to use the other day with the hard disk on my desktop went kerplooey. I even have a DOS 3.1 boot disk to enable me to boot up a PC to format floppy disks to 720K and not 1.14mb. This I needed because I used to have an old XT computer that was so old, you had to load the operating system on before you could even use it.
It was colour though; cyan, magenta, white and yellow.

I confess though; I have a BBC micro emulator on the PC and occasionally play the odd game of Repton, Painter, Elite, Zalaga...
