Overall, I appreciate his role in Sam's character growth. He just could have been written stronger because what really love about Threads is that it's about Sam figuring out what *she* wants and grasping that she hasn't been giving
herself honestly. She was trying to build a life she thought she was supposed to have. That point, while very strong, could have been stronger with a better boyfriend character. Because let's face it,
