Overall, I appreciate his role in Sam's character growth. He just could have been written stronger because what really love about Threads is that it's about Sam figuring out what *she* wants and grasping that she hasn't been giving herself honestly. She was trying to build a life she thought she was supposed to have. That point, while very strong, could have been stronger with a better boyfriend character. Because let's face it, never stood a chance

i'm a son of a cop and why sam even got with him is odd. i mean cops have some really whacky hours.

Because Sam's travel schedule is easy to deal with. . .

Isn't that why so many cops are with nurses? They both have odd schedules.

Anyway, as much as I don't like , I don't like Laira more. Pete acted out of what could have been concern for Sam's safety. Laira's motives were completely selfish, as far as I can tell.

from what i hear from my dad is most of his co-workers are interested in boinking co-workers and it causes drama within the workplace. my dad is was a patrol officer but he since got promoted and has been assigned different assignments (because he is that good of a worker) and my mother works in records and so when people asked me what my parents do i tell them they work in law enforcement.

i guess it would be okay but i remember when my parents got divorce they tried their hardest to stay away from one another. my mother still holds a grudge against him but that's neither here, nor there nor jack/sam related.
