all i've got to play with is 'microsoft works word processor', and i don't really know how to work with it. how do i find out, for myself, how many words i'm using?

(not that it'll shorten my drabbles. )

At the top of the page where the toolbar is, look under "Tools". There's a WordCount in the list. Click on that and you should get how many words you have.

I don't know that program, but usually there is some place you can look at the properties of your document, which include size and word count. In Word the bottom left corner lists the number of pages and words.

You could try typing in "Word Count" in the Help feature.

Well, in regard to the jealousy part - I know it's not a thing that defines their relationship at all - I just like Sam's reaction to seeing Jack with Kerry - she is after all engaged to at this point - and it gave me a chance to recycle some old grabs

I love that moment in Threads where Sam gets taken by surprise by the green-eyed monster. It's so unexpected and totally realistic without being too obvious! Amanda says so much with her eyes in that scene.

i keep wondering how long sam and pete would've been married before it Collapsed like a house of cards and she once again ended up in Jack's front door (or backyard) and if so, would he had been retired or would he have still taken the HWC Job.

It's Complicated

My little contribution. I had the image in my head all day. I really wanted more room to write this one!

“It’s complicated,” he said to the woman shining a glass behind the bar.

“Tell me one I haven’t heard before.” She cocked a hip out to the side and pierced him with a look.

“Okay. She’s my second in command. She’s brilliant. She’s beautiful. She’s completely untouchable and only partly because the second-in-command thing.”

The bartender looked over his shoulder and he looked up into the mirror. Sam stood behind him.

“So what are the other reasons?”

He dropped his gaze and nodded with defeat. Yep. He could have predicted her appearance what with the day he’d had. “Drink, Major?”
