In hindsight, I was apparently shipping characters around that age too. I just checked and La Femme Nikita and The Pretender both aired before Stargate SG-1 in my country, so I was shipping Nikita/Michael and Jarod/Ms Parker at 8/9 and probably other pairings from other shows too but these two were the first that popped into my head. I got over Nikita/Michael as the show progress though and having rewatched it a few times over the years I can definitely say I'm over them (really liked the ending with Nikita) but I do still enjoy Jarod/Ms Parker.Originally posted by Lt.Colonel John Sheppard View Post
A few years ago I realized I had actually been reading fanfic for The Pretender about ten years ago but I didn't know it was called fanfic at that time. From what I recall, I stumbled across a virtual season written by fans when I was trying to determine whether there had been another season/movie (which unfortunately wasn't the case) and I really enjoyed reading it, but had no idea that was called fanfiction. Even now, the concept of fanfiction isn't well known in my country, except perhaps among the tweens/teens that are obsessed with boybands...
Anyway, when I got into S/J fanfics a few years ago I really discovered the concept of fanfiction and it was only then that I made the connection to what I'd read about that other show years earlier. Basically, SG-1 and The Pretender (or more like S/J and Jarod/Ms Parker) are the only shows for which I've been drawn into the world of fanfic, because other shows or maybe it's the fanfics written about them just don't fascinate me (as much).

Yes! Totally forgot about Princess Leia and Han Solo! So, I guess I was shipping them around the same age as Sparky, since my brother always made me watch the three Star Wars movies with him. He was a huge fan, including cards, figurines, model spaceships and a cardboard Darth Vader and C3PO, and still really likes it but he's too old for those things now. Besides, his girlfriend wasn't too enamored with it and they really have no room at their place for two life-sized cardboard characters or any of his other hobby things (I think they're at my mother's or sister's attic because of the lack of space).Unmade Plans (WIP: 11/20):
