Can I suggest a new term for the shipper family?

'Shipisode.' An episode in which levels of S/J ship reach unprecedented levels.
EG, Divide and Conquer.

I'm hoping for plenty of shipisodes in the second half of season 8!!

I think giving red bad points to your own member of the family is awful ..We really should stop that before it gets out of hand ..I don't really know who does that although I may have a idea.

And Suekay ..You never started the OT ..I think somebody else does more OT than you so for me You are a valuable member of the shipper family You contribute with all your fics and you really do not deserve to receive any red bad points what so ever .

Yeah, someone needs to chill out. I would hate to think one of the family is dinging the other. We have been through so much together, Sam/Pete, the poor spelling dinger, hot and cold J/S ship, etc. We don't need to be fighting each other.

As far as OT, I think this has improved. When I first started posting here, the OT was out of control. We would already be at page 1000 with the majority of it OT. So if someone goes off topic from time to time, I am ok with it.

I need a fic reccomendation! I want to read an angsty sam/jack fic, but with a happy sam/jack ending...anyone?

Also...I'm not sure if anyone has read this one, but Samfan reccomended this author to me, and i read this fic...and it was just awesome. Seems I've taken a liking to AU fics...

You know, I don't know why we all get so depressed. Check out the Sam/Pete thread if you want to see how certain the anti-shippers are about S/J resolution! I dunno... I think it's getting kind of sad that large portions of the fangroup are being pulled apart over the ship issue. It's becoming more and more noticeable here at Gateworld... I'm beginning to think we'll be lucky to get any kind of ending which isn't so deliberately vague that every single person on this site will have issue with it...

Don't let other fans get you down. They aren't the ones that decide the direction of the show -- neither are we for that matter.

Go back and read the spoilers from the new lowdown. It's gonna happen on screen. It's not gonna be vague. It's not gonna be a tease. They're resolving it. And, based on the spoilers we have about Sam admitting she's not happy with Pete, Kerry tossing out an answer to the rgs issue, and the whole point of the arc being that Sam deserves to be happy, well, there's not much of anywhere they can go to resolve this that isn't shippy.

And, yes, some people will be unhappy with a shippy resolution (or even mentioning ship). Some would be unhappy with a non-shippy resolution. Some would be unhappy if the sky was blue -- oh, wait. Bad example. Multiple people, including Amanda, have acknowledged the ending of this whole Pete arc isn't going to make everybody happy. From the moment TPTB started this story-arc in Grace, they knew there were gonna be some unhappy people -- and different ones at various points on the rollercoaster. You can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs -- and they're making one. They're sooooo making one.

The OT has improved enormously since when it was bothering me months ago. Now the 'off topic' is what I tend to consider tangential discussions. Jello, penguins and the like started here. We can't take those conversations elsewhere without people thinking we're crazy. Perhaps I should rephrase, people who weren't around for the shippy beginnings of those conversations are missing some important context and would find the discussions confusing. We are crazy, but in a good way.
