Nynaeve, I wasn't saying take the story to a full blown romance, just having a new alien have a misunderstanding that happens to be a foretelling, or even Teal'c having picked up on the static electricity in the air. I keep saying it's all a misunderstanding -except in JAck's private thoughts . And I'm still not talking true love, but rather attraction, just as you say. Frankly, I feel like I've read everything that's been written thrice over and for some reason, the General and Colonel part of their relationship doesn't do it or me - probably because just how long can the angst/sexual tension play out? until they're Ernest and Catherine's age? It's probably the lack of resolution. I'm ready to re-live the early days when the angst still had UMMMmmpfst!

Profuse apologies about the lateness of the review, I was having problems with my own computer. Here's my review, a little late, but here. The banner was done by meredithe5.



Summary: The Goa'uld queen, Hathor, named for the Egyptian sex goddess, awakens after being discovered in her Sarcophagus in Mexico and makes her way to Stargate Command. She begins to exert her influence on the men of the base in order to start building her new Jaffa army. Soon, with all the males loyal to her, it is up to the females of the base to stop her.

Favorite Scene: My favorite scene is when Janet, Sam, and the other women on the base start to use Hathor's powers against her, when they seduce the men that are guarding them. One of my favorite lines from the episode is in this bit, from Sam: "Well they did train us to take advantage of the enemy's weakness."

Favorite Dialogue: My favorite dialogue is when Sam and Janet are going over the plan of attack to bring down Hathor. The line from Janet, "Be the Girl" is my favorite from that scene. My other favorite bit is when Sam "checks out" Jack to make sure his wound is gone.

General Discussion: This episode, while being my favorite, I will admit to being a little on the cheesy side of things. Good looking female alien turns all of the men on the base, save Teal'c, into slaves. From a "girl power" point of view, this is a very good episode, the women kick some serious a$$ and have to save the men. This was the first SG1 episode I saw. I really liked the whole episode, it was very difficult to choose my favorite bits. I genuinely like the whole episode.

Sam and Jack discussion: As this episode is very early in the show, there really isn't much shippiness. Sam does seem to be slightly put out that Jack is under Hathor's influence, but that could be seen as her being disappointed that her CO, who she obviously holds in high regard, succumbed so easily. Then there is the bit towards the end of the episode, where Jack is out of the sarcophagus, and Hathor has already blown it up. It's kind of unclear as to what Sam is saying "Wow" about. Is it marveling at how well the sarcophagus healed him or is it something else?

It's good I agree with you on the favorite scene. I loved watching the women flirt and then knock out the male soldiers. I also loved the fact that a small handful of female personnel were able to take back the base when the guys were all 'doped' up lol.

I think that there were only like 5-10 women on the entire base! I also loved Sam's reaction when she knocked out Hammond! So funny!

Must be weird to watch episodes at random as the show spans ten years and sometimes they all look so young in season one! Daniel's hair is also really bad in the early years and Sam's hairstyle changes so many times over the years that you can usually tell from her hair to which season a picture belongs!

But in Broca Divide she was still so wide-eyed and inexperienced and Jack still had brown hair! ö
