And also, I think this episode and the previous one, are the two big ones in Season 7 where I really feel RDA's reduced schedule hits the screen. In this one he should be there - I agree with Rachel, not arguing the military thing (he's way beyond that level of antagonism with Daniel now) - but perhaps supporting him in some way. Having neither Jack around much, nor Sam, and having this so heavily focussed on Daniel...it feels off balance to me. I've always liked the episodes where there's a real team feel to it. Even episodes where they're off doing their own thing toward the same end goal are teamy but this is just...well, see Josi's point about the grunting.
I think the message (oh the allegory to the native Americans displacement) is less than subtle too. Might as well flash up "here's The Message" on the screen.
To find something positive to add, Michael Shanks acts his socks off here (again). I'll give him a lot of credit for being able to act so convincingly against men in rubber suits.
