Original Starship Design Thread

I'm very new to Stargate Design. I'm feeling around in the Dark right now. Right now if this was Trek I could drop a design (rudimentary) in a couple of hours on CAD.

Stargate is a different animal. It's rougher more confining...military. My current project is an unnamed Battleship.

Names I'm considering.

Lachesis Class Battleship (I like that one
Galatea Class
Hades Class

The ship will have three main sections. 1. Flanking Gun Platforms in the front. 2. Limited Forward Lauching Missles in the mid section and 3. Drive Section.

I intend to make it's firing Arcs absolutely lethal.

The Second Project is an Atlantean Star Castle



The Design style he chose brings out the abilities of the program he's using.
It's not the Design it'self that trills me it's the stle and visual it's self. It's hard to explain. Auto Cad has only three visual styles... Realistic, Conceptual and Hidden.

I want something that can really show off the design AND make designing in 3D easy or at least straigh forward.

There's no rule saying you have to only make Earth ships..

Yes it's a Sketchup model, Here is proof.

And I do use Lightwave to render after I make changes to the model. Its about a 70:30 ratio.

Alx, with the names of ships we try to keep them for one class as to avoid confusion. This can become unavoidable in some cases.

I give a class name then a ship name for example for the Poseidon class bomber had the Poseidon, Proteus, Polaris, Perseus.

...from memory 442 spelt Hades with a z though?

It was a cheep laptop, but I had to go back to my fixed one again. The keyboard on the dell laptop was borken, I hooked it up to this one and took all the key stuff from the dell. I put the rest on a portable hardrive. 1tb! anywho, I find it ironic that the makers of this laptop were called gateway...

I don't get an income yet. I'm looking into a nice job as a writer for some school stuff though, so I might get an income soon. My english teacher thinks I should take a job as an English teacher. (all in jest of course, I think) I might become a teacher when I'm older though.

On a different note:

I decided to go with a Dead' style hangarbay. Just working on the lighting of the engine glow as well and the front hangar lighting as well.
