cooky, i think your design is great, i really do...also, it could have rail guns in the deisng quite easily and the hyperdrive from a teltak would easily fit in that frame so the hyperdrive could be fully ooperational.
other than rail guns and hyperdrive its perfect for our next 'class', that of a light bomber, wit the heavy bomber and escort craft coming from JRPR's serpent.

It's not big enough to use a tel'tak power supply. We don't need a hyperdrive generator, ours work, it's powering them we have a problem with. The only power generator we know of that could fit in a fighter and power a hyperdrive is a zpm, but since we can't build them, and we're not likelly to find to many, putting them in fighters isn't going to happen. To bad, it'd be real cool to take a 302/307 for a quick spin around the solar system.

As for the wingspan, it is large for a fighter, but it has to acount for the lack of a tail section. Even though aerodynamics are relatively unnesicary, just as in the 302 and 304's, building an aerodynamic craft will improve its atmospheric performance without sacrificing fuel.

On another note, I've been trying to come up with a hull design for a carrier, but I'm stumped. If you paint guru's have any ideas, post top, side, front views etc. and I'll turn the one, or maybe two, I like the best into a 3d moddel.

The teltak power supply is less than what a F-302 puts out...
also the DHD, PJ, stargate power nodes, ring transporters and other power sources including our own naquadah generators are more than enough to power a teltak hyperdrive.
And our do not work, they failed on every level, a hyperdrive is designed for intersteller travel, if it cannot do that it has failed. the tokra nad asgard could easily patch ours up and by the 307 i think our knowledge and technology will have improved sufficently that we could have a full galaxy tripping bomber without breaking too much of a sweat.

The tel'tak power generator is capable of powering a hyperdrive, but it is phisically to large to fit in a fighter. There is no known naquadah power supply that is poth powerfull enough, and phisically small enough to powere a star fighter hyperdrive.

The other powersuplies you listed may or may not be capable of doing the job, (save our own naquadah generators or we'd just use them in the 302's) but we don't have the knowledge or technology to build them ourselves. We'd have to harvest them from existing sorces, which would limit the number we can aquire. I'm sure the Asgard could design one, but I doubt it would happen. Plus, travelling in a cramped fighter cockpit for hours or days across the galaxy is impractical. You'd have to rest upon arival before going into combat, or you'd be warn down before even begining the fight.

In Momento, the Promie's hyperdrive and Naquadria generator functioned perfectly untill the ship flew through the gravitation wake of an exploding star. This caused the naquadria's instability to spiral out of control, forcing an emergency shutdown. When they made the micro jump to the planet, it damaged the generator and triggered an overload, the generator was jettisoned, not the hyperdrive unit. Had they replaced the lost reactor with another just like it, they'd have been up and running again, but they decided that naquadria was to unpredictable to work with.

The 302's hyperdrive generator also worked, but the naquadria power supply couldn't be controlled without the control systems that they put on Prometheus, which were phisically to large for the 302. The intricate interconectivity between the power supply and the hyperdrive generator makes many see them as one piece of equipment, but they're actually two seperate pieces. Our hyperdrive tech worked, our power generation technology failed.

Personally, I think Atlantis is the only reason the Asgard gave us a power generator and a hyperdrive. Without atlantis, we'd have little need for an intergalactic hyperdrive, and they'd just have designed us a usable power supply for our own hyperdrive technology.

That's how I see it anyway.

I've tried to work with some of the discriptions, but my mind is hitting a brick wall. I just can't get it to work right, keeps looking like a multi-million dollar flying brick made out of trinium. Not pretty.

So instead, I'm hoping to take someone else's 2d hull design and run with it.

well i have posted 2 carriers in my time. one of then was complet fanwank but the specs can be changed and the other one is the longsword that i am very proud of. Your welcome to do them if you want but after i finish my serpant class im hopping to do all of my MS paint ships in 3d so its up to you if you wanna do it or not.

The Vulcan, Illiad, and Aquam were repainted by me. It is supposed to be reverse-engineered Ancient and Asgard technology. It has Beliskner guns. My Icarus has Beliskner guns and Tollan Ion cannon and a reverse engineered less powerful form of the weapon in SGA's Trinity episode.

ok, i think what is going on here is a debate if that bomber can have a hyperdrive or not...yes it can, and the 302 does also, but the hyperdrives are limited, so they only can make short jumps, 2 purposes


1. enemy sheild are too powerful, 302s hypserspace threw them and take out what they need and hyperspace out


2. say the ship they came from got blown up and there is no other ship close enough(e.g korolev sent out all her fighter but it blew up supposedly...although the odyssey was there, but take out the oddyssey), and then they just hyperspace as much as they can to the nearest planet with a stargate and batta bing batta boom

Naw it doesn't need a stereo system it has the combined roar of at least forty F-302's. That is more than enough noise. could someone give me a link to a good picture so I can modify the pic?
