she'd just punch him. Kneeing in the nuts is kinda hard to explain in casual instances 'he was going to pull the breaker so I spun him around and racked him'...a punch or smack on the head would go over better.
I know Kavanaugh is a <Insert Suitable Expletive>. I would actually think there would be a queue.
Totally OT, but...
Spoiler:
I once asked a client whether anyone would mind if I killed Charlie; he said I'd probably have a lot of help and a very good defense attorney (who would be one of the guys I work with). Charlie is a real person and, like Kavanaugh, an <insert suitable expletive>.
Therefore, I agree that a punch to the head is easier to explain and leads to fewer "blame the victim" scenarios than a knee to the nuts would.

Just write the action. Are you going to write it from one character's point of view or several? Just sit down and write what one sees, then the other (if applicable)
Don't be scared by all the 'must have this tech detail, must research that weapon, must research this protocol'......most of that stuff will never even come up in a fic.(and to be honest, a lot of it is just endless detail that bogs down the fic and makes them harder to read.)
Just write what you want the scene to be, then you can fill in the gaps.
Let's say it's Jack and you're writing that first scene in Forever and a Day when the Jaffa are attacking, what does he see? What does he feel? What does he do? Close your eyes, imagine that you are there and describe it as it happens around you.
I could've sworn that in an early ep of SG-1, Daniel mentions that something in the DHD translates alien languages for you if you've been through the Stargate a few times.
sigpic Long before you and I were born, others beat these benches with their empty cups,
To the night and its stars, to the here and now with who we are.
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

I think that's fanon, not canon.
Unmade Plans (WIP: 11/20): Sam's life takes a turn in an unexpected direction when she's faced with an unplanned pregnancy. The decision to keep the baby and raise it on her own will alter her life forever. Relationships are put to the test, especially the one between her and Jack. She doesn't know what to expect from him and he surprises her at every turn.
On FFnet or AO3
My S/J fics can be found on FFnet and AO3. I also tweet and tumble about the ship and my writing/stories.

Nope. As best I can remember, no explanation is ever given in any of the series as to how everybody is suddenly speaking English. There are numerous theories (Daniel translates everything offscreen, DHD translator effect etc) but nothing official.
