Just write the action. Are you going to write it from one character's point of view or several? Just sit down and write what one sees, then the other (if applicable)
Don't be scared by all the 'must have this tech detail, must research that weapon, must research this protocol'......most of that stuff will never even come up in a fic.(and to be honest, a lot of it is just endless detail that bogs down the fic and makes them harder to read.)
Just write what you want the scene to be, then you can fill in the gaps.
Let's say it's Jack and you're writing that first scene in Forever and a Day when the Jaffa are attacking, what does he see? What does he feel? What does he do? Close your eyes, imagine that you are there and describe it as it happens around you.Comment

Nope. As best I can remember, no explanation is ever given in any of the series as to how everybody is suddenly speaking English.
