What's wrong with lots of men?

The problem is that the women aren't viable and I find in comparison to the men, the women are even less worth their presence in salt. Further more, there is less focused and thought out attention on the women, while the men are given definitely more well though direction. This is not always the case and I have had my moments of looking at Shep wrong.

I'm a bit frustrated by the marginalization of the women that we've gotten for 4 seasons. Yes, Teyla is given a new direction, but not really any strong development. Yes, we have Keller, but currently she's a face seen in few eps...admittedly news says that will change. Carter was a fill in and never really forged a solid mark for me as leader, although I liked her..."interim" is a better title for her than Woolsey. Weir is now evil and basically and in and out character, further more she's recurring.

This season there was one female regular, or as regular as they come and that's Teyla. Carter coming in second. The men on the other hand have more than one ep dedicated to their fiascos and adventures. I don't have a problem with that, but I'd like to see more for the women.

Do I have high hopes for S5, I have hopes and that's it. I still get the felling the men will still take a lead in representation.

Currently I hope they have a sliders show and they end up in a universe that is all women and Lt. Col. John Sheppard is now Lt. Col Joanna Sheppard. Dr. Meredith Rodney McKay is now Dr. Meredith Rodell McKay. Finally, Specialist Ronon Dex is Specialist Rhonda Dex. I can't curse a woman to the fate of the last name Woolsey.


After seeing Linzi's post to Jewel's new status then I'd go with Linzi's line up but I wouldn't be surprised if Woolsey just went in line and took Carter's spot.

Cause Robert Picardo is an B+ - lister who will want to have a Robert Picardo as Richard Woolsey... very high profile.

There's no way Woolsey will be second. He'll be at the end, right before Rodney, or maybe Keller.

Well normally I'd think RP would go in where AT is. Certainly in terms of contract negotiations it'd be easier to keep everyone else where they are presently. However, I think RP is too senior an actor not to have a special spot towards the end of the credits. it'd be easier to intert RP before DH and have Jewel as number 2 in the credits, but, honestly, I can't see that happening.

I think Amanda only got second billing because of her years with the show and probably her contract. TPTB are wanting to restructure the show from when Weir was leader so that the commander isn't as high priority as the team, and with Picardo being a new regular to the show, he's going to get added on to the end.

That would be odd if Jason was promoted two spots over Rachel, who's been with the show longer. I don't think it'll happen, but I could be wrong.

No, Jewel's not going to be number two. And while Picardo may be a senior actor, he's still new to the show (as a regular), and coming into a support role (JM's description of the leader role). Honestly, I think if it had been anyone but Amanda replacing Torri, they wouldn't have been in the second spot either. They would have been at the end where Don Davis and Beau Bridges always were.
