Dr. McKay is currently a planetary scientist with the Space Science Division of NASA Ames Research Center. He received his Ph.D. in AstroGeophysics from the University of Colorado in 1982 and has been a research scientist with the NASA Ames since that time. Dr. McKay is one of the world's leading researchers studying Titan, and has been involved in numerical modeling of planetary atmospheres for many years. He is currently working on models of Titan's thick atmosphere in support of the joint NASA/ESA mission to the Saturn system. Dr. McKay is co-Investigator on the Titan probe atmospheric structure experiment (HASI). His broader interests focus on understanding the relationship between the chemical and physical evolution of the solar system and the origin of life. He has been actively involved in planning for future Mars missions including human settlements. Dr. Mckay has also been involved with polar research since 1980, traveling to the Antarctic dry valleys and more recently to the Siberian Arctic to conduct research in these Mars-like environments.

That was taken at a party hosted by Sci Fi. I, um, liberated ("Liberated. Yeah, that's the ticket!") the photo from Getty Images and had to do a bit of cropping, enhancement, sharpening, etc. Alas, I couldn't get rid of the watermark that spoiled the whole shot, which included hand porn. :::: pouts ::::

I didn't answer because its not a question I want to contemplate after Katrina. I still haven't heard status on all of my friends down in Gulfport and Biloxi and I'm damn lucky my folks survived at all. So, I'll have to bow out of any quizzes that ask me to chose saving Rodney over someone else. This isn't meant to be a scolding or anything... just an explanation for my non-participation.

It's very, very late and I'm very, very tired, but I think we need a little more Rodney here! And we spoke about arm porn and how nice RM's/DH's arms are again on page 265, and since then I cannot forget one of the phrases that came into my mind while thunking over the arm pics. I decided to use this phrase for a pic and had even more ideas for other pics then.

S.G.C - Love the South Park Rodney, I have made my own of various characters and people on the SouthPark Studio site but it gets tricky trying to save them. So yea! and thanks for posting on the Rockett thread too. Sent ya green.

Born out of discussion between some friends and I during the last episode I ask this question:

Who do you think Rodney feels he is closest to? (Not who do you think he's closest to, but who he would say.)

I've always felt that there is a comfortable and deeply shared understanding between McKay and Weir (not in a shippy way) that has carried over from their time in Antarctica together. My friend says obviously Shep, though I think she is drawing this conclusion from "Trinity" and the last few minutes of that episode, leaving him for last, etc.

Another plausible choice would be Carson Beckett. Or maybe Radek. Any thoughts?
