I went to see Jersey Boys last night, which in case you don't know is a musical about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Well, of course, I managed to find 2 Sparky songs. The play is totally awesome by the way.

The first one is my favorite and I love the vid. Maybe because it has that tiny little angst feeling. I can see John looking at pics of her and thinking about the time they spent together. *sobs*

We don't have all these roads or buildings except in Paris. Quartier de la défense link 2. In France, it's more "small village", "old monuments" and it's small.lol
And if someone wants to go in France (Like I said you are welcome in my house), we can go in Paris and visit La Sorbonne (link 2) where JoeF spent 1 year.

If I'm going to boring I'd say he was going to say "Thank you for giving me a second chance."

If I wanted to be a little Sparkish and still be in canon, I'd say he was going to say: "I owe you everything."

If we were going with what I wanted him to say, I'd say he was going to say: "My life wouldn't have been worth living if I hadn't met you." *FLAILSSSSSSSSSSSS*

I actually lean towards something a little Sparkish, because when she pins him against the wall in the infirmary scene, why wouldn't he have wanted to repeat "Thank you?"

I lean toward the a little Sparkish too... the more boring "second chance" line is obviously implied, but there's just that little something extra in the "I owe you everything." *squees*

I've wondered that too. Did they just want him to be deliberately cute and pretend he didn't get what she meant to have a sweet moment between them? Surely not, knowing this bunch. Did they see the Spark this early and start the flirting? Not likely. Did they actually not have a clue what they wanted him to say? More likely.

But if it was something logical and simple like "Thanks for taking a chance on me" there's no earthly reason he couldn't have said that in front of everybody. People on this forum have literally been discussing this for 5 years and are no closer to figuring it out. Does anybody remember what the commentary said? Sorry daughter.

Yeah, certainly not to cover up with 'take care of each other' which sounds more mushy. It was definitely something personal and something to be said in times of desperation (which for many developing ships sometimes leads to that ever important 'I love you').

My logical side agrees with you that these writers wouldn't have gone towards anything seriously interpersonal, so I'm tending towards thinking it was going to be something along the lines of 'thank you for choosing me/having faith in me/saving me/making me your military commander/trusting me/pick one'. That was sort of the great unspoken that we never really heard John say to Elizabeth.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if that's what happened.

I just got the DVD up and it was Rachel Luttrell and Paul McGillion doing the commentary. They didn't know what it was going to be either, but when John says the "take care of each other" line...

Paul: "Ooooh, I don't know if he was gonna say that."
Rachel: "We'll never know, will we?"
Paul: "Well, we might."
Rachel: "Perhaps."

And then when Lizzie comes back and says 'you weren't really going to say that,' John responds with the 'I don't know what you're talking about,' and Lizzie comes back with the 'I didn't think so'...

Paul: "Bowowow!"
Rachel and Paul start laughing.

Gotta love it.
