Good morning, Sparkies! Happy Fluffy Thursday!
'Nuna needs some fluffy fics, so here's a few that'll give you some serious sugar shock!
A Taste For Scandal, by Azar. Austen-esque AU. Widow Elizabeth Wallace had always been a proper lady until she met the dashing rake, Colonel John Sheppard.
It's All in the Delivery, by AngelQueen. Five things Elizabeth Weir would not normally wear.
and Sleepy Puppy, by wanderingsmith. When John can't sleep, Lizzie gives him some TLC.
Originally posted by Probie View PostI just saw the movie "Trick or treat". I'm happy that we don't have Halloween in France. Too dangerous.lol I found this movie very funny.
Originally posted by Eri13 View PostYeah, I still wonder why John was nowhere around those sets of scenes. Everybody else got a taste of Liz and theNoah Wylie look-a-likeBearded Mike. And yet no John (no Ronon, either, but would we ever expect Ronon?).
I am still of the opinion that they just knew it would be difficult to gauge John's reaction and pretty much anything he did would be interpreted as Sparky. He could have reacted like Rodney (smirk and shrug) but I think most people would have realized John probably wouldn't have done that. He would have been a bit more suspicious. No mention of Mike, and of course no mention of her outfit in the scene they share (not that they would at that point in the story) but IMHO I think they didn't want to bother figuring out how to work him in without trying to seriously circumvent the ship stuff, so they just had him oblivious. *snerks*
Originally posted by Eri13 View PostThey also talk a lot about "Leo" (aka, Leonora Varela, who played Chaya) and how nice she was. Makes it harder to dislike Chaya.
My favorite part has to be Torri's commentary on her credit scenes, though...they're the season 1 credits, of course, and if I remember correctly she says something like 'and here I am looking worried...looking worried...looking more worried...'
Originally posted by Southern Red View PostIs Duet this scene is one of my faves. You just know he wants to put his head in her lap.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

there are two shots of her that just totally break my heart...I'll see if I can find the screen caps....
SK is "Trick 'r Treat" as creepy as it looks? I wanna see it but I hate when scary movies aren't actually as scary as they should be....

and yes to the petting and hair playingSpoiler:I found it to be very creepy. The atmosphere is lushly detailed with lots of great sets and costumes and special effects so good, you can't tell where reality ends and the effects begin. The score is amazing and adds to the spookiness; I'm listening to it right now, in fact. There's blood, but it's not over-the-top with the gore like Saw and it's ilk. It's not intended to be a straight horror movie; it's scary, but with a strong thread of really dark and morbid comedy. Word of warning: kids die in this movie (which may be why WB ended up sending it straight to video); in fact, in the commentary, the director and some of the behind-the-scenes guys did make mention of the idea of "what if the Goonies died?" But damn, it's a very fun movie for Halloween fanatics.

Spoiler:I prefer the morbid gore to the over the top stuff...and I'm more frightened by the less is more kinda thing than the overtly in your face stuff. Psychological thrillers are by far my faves, movies like Candy Man, Skeleton Key and The Grudge have kept me up for days, while movies like The Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th movies just kinda make me laugh....I'm going to have to see if my local library has Trick R Treat.....

Originally posted by Southern Red View PostIsn't CG just the best? And it ties in nicely later with the idea that they know each other so well and would be willing to carry out the other's wishes even if it meant losing them. How could you say anybody else was closer to John after watching that one? And I loved the part where he told future Todd that he knew his people would come for him because he had a life to go back to. OK...Eri beat me to it...and I think she got the ones I was thinking about, but I'll have to go check....and I love when she gives Ladon what's coming to him! Woo hoo!
I'm going to end up watching CG with hubby again later and I wouldn't be surprised if even he FINALLY sees Sparky...I mean, how can you miss it!?
I really need to get myself some pumpkin spice kisses...i love pumpkin spice everything else so I should like the kisses too, right?
I made this comment over on the thunk thread too...I loved CG but have a really hard time with the Shep whump...I'm more of a lover not a fighter kinda girl to begin with (more or less) and while I totally love Ronon whump for some reason, Shep whump just kills me....My fanfics:http://evil_bad_evil.livejournal.com/3389.htmlMember of the Sisterhood of the Pantster Fan Fic Writers

OT "Trick or treat"
Spoiler:I didn't find this very creepy. Of course, I closed my eyes sometimes. The director is my favorite character.lol I love the scene between him and the kid at the beginning. And the blood....
But some scenes are strange. The scene in the forest with the women. Very weird. I love the story with the kids on the bus.
In general, it's well done.
I'm more afraid when a movie talks about ghosts or something that we don't see.
But this movie made me want to see others Halloween movies. If you have some ideas...tell me.
Eri:Love the pics that you post. Now I will add CG on my list.sigpic
Sig made by nephty and avi by Kris....THANK YOU!

What's this Trick 'N Treat movie and why has everyone seen it?Spoiler:It's a great little horror anthology movie that was made a couple of years ago but has been stuck in release hell by the studio until this year. Until now, it's only been seen at a few film festivals, and it's gotten very, very good reviews. It just came out on DVD/Blu-ray a couple of weeks ago. And yes, it's awesome.
John would probably love it, Lizzie would cling to him and squeal while watching it.(This is legal notice that any attempt to censor or delete, for the purpose of oppressing fair and open discussion, any statement made by me will be considered a violation of my right to free speech as guaranteed by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, and will be dealt with in accordance with federal law.)
