        So the squirrels partying in my attic? They invited the mice. It’s an all out rave at this point. Called in the experts for an assist with trap/relocation/sealing entry points and the quote…..$8,600. I’m going to do trap/release and the try to DIY the other work. Okay

              I’m not afraid to tackle big projects but the weather is not cooperating. I’m more worried about the poor animals getting relocated. Like- where will they live now and what about the food they’ve worked all year to store up? If it wasn’t for health and wiring issues I’d let them stay, lol.

                I'd let them stay and wait for spring to evict... but I'm the kind of person who tells the spiders in the house that the "floor is lava" by which I mean that our cats will eat/kill them if they remain at lower levels.

                  And that's part of the $8600 no doubt--the experts are used to working in any weather (except a blizzard, probably).

                    On the other hand, I just bought some "zap it to kill it" kinda traps for the mice in my house.

                    Yes, I'm not a nice person. Yes, I'm going to hell. Most of my favorite people will be there.


                    The way I figure it, if I still had a cat then the mice would have suffered a far worse death.

                        We were supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow this morning. We only got a slight dusting. I'm not complaining. I had to run some errands while it was snowing, so I got to experience that feeling like you're going to light speed in Star Wars.

                              Well…. another hour long detour on the already long drive to the trailhead tomorrow and it’s snowing in the mountains now. I have a feeling the adventure will start long before we reach the trail, lol. The detour in will take us by a large Harrahs casino in Cherokee and a brewery so backup plans are covered. Got to love mountain towns where you’re always dressed appropriately in beanies, boots, and wool layers.
