Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread

Some "Sheyla" type already started a thread for a Caldwell/Weir ship. Then took great offense when others suggested that it was to protect his/her own pet ship.

The thread starter also called the ship "Caweir", which is really funny when you say it aloud. Sums up my opinion on the whole name-combining thing.

As for what the fan's want, I think TPTB should not that this thread is rapildy hurtling toward 6,000 posts, and looks to keep growing as the season continues. Of course, that also makes it hard to catch up if you've been offline for a few days.

CaWeir? LOL! How incredibly goofy sounding! snort! Why didn't they just call it WeirWolf since these stupid combination things sound like either porn stars or vampires. Geesh. Maybe Caldwell will pinch her butt or something so she can slap the ever-lovin **** out of him and they'll shut up.

John and Elizabeth are mature adults and as such, they deserve a chance to seek more than a slam, bam, thank you mam relationship in their lives. I'm looking for deep relationship material here like what I've already seen building between them in what little I've seen of season one and all of season two thus far.

I absolutely hate the name combo thing. I much rather look at 'John and Elizabeth' on screen than SheWolf or CatWeir or some such crap. John and Elizabeth sounds sexy...it looks sexy on screen and it feels sexy rollin around inside your head.

OK. Back to the bleepin steam machine! Nobody else post anything that makes me want to respond to it -kapesh? ; )

I'm sorry, but pushing a "ship" for its bondage/dom/submissive qualities is a real turn-off to me. The fact that "Sheyla" is a major porn star doesn't say much either. *end rant*

Yeah, I wrote something up as an overview of Season 1. *goes to dig up post* MF claims I missed the War and Peace scene in Home, but really, I just didn't think it bore that much repeating. Most of us were agreed that it was cute.

It kinda puts me off when I have to pass through posts bashing "Sheyla" AND Sheyla SHIPPERS just to discuss the ship on the top of the thread. Sure, we prefer Shep/Weir, but it is certainly okay for others to see things differently. It would be better for everyone to sit back and see how things play out, and quietly succumb to my subliminal messages. ^___^

So -BLAM! There I am ready to hit the sack after a totally flop evening of cleaning my carpets (dang I miss x-files on sun.nite) and I read this addictive board once more and read a post that has helped me as the newbie shipper more than anything I've found on the net! I loved that write-up!!! I saved it for when/if I actually purchase SG:A DVD season one. Just WOW. thank you so much gal!

I honestly don't mean to bash the shep/teyla shipper pov but I've yet to catch an ep that showed so much as a real flicker between them other than mutual respect of abilities and teamwork/compadreship. And I promise you, I'd not watched ONE Atlantis ep before June 30 of THIS YEAR. It took me all of about two episodes in rerun to pick out John and Elizabeth as a potential pairing based upon serious vibes I was getting from then on-screen.

You can't describe what it is other than 'it'. I could tell that Mulder and Scully obviously had 'it' early on in their relationship when so many-including TPTB- were scoffing that there would never be any type of 'romantic' angle between them and it was all about respect and 'partnership'. From day ONE, it had that feel to it that lent you to think- 'Hey, there is something real and deep and lasting about what these two might develop'. I've not seen it on anything on TV until I accidentally bumped into Atlantis one day and glued myself to the couch watching Elizabeth and John just... talking. 'It' is just...THERE. No doubt in my feeble little mind.

I actually, really like Rachel Luttrel and the Teyla character just fine. Her being an alien chick is cool and her pov differs from the earthlings which is interesting at times...she's a great fighter...unique to look at...er...all over...

But she ain't 'it' for John...It just ain't there -naturally. Forcing a square peg in a round hole just damages both.
