If your looking for vampire romance then Christine Feehan is great! Veeerrryyy adult though. Check out her 'Dark' series.

If you're looking for some Vampire novels that really tend towards the light side, Charlaine Harris writes a marvelously humourous series called Southern Vampire Mysteries.

Tanya Huff's Blood Series is always an excellent choice. As is anything else written by her. I would encourage you to read her other fantasy novels too.

The Noble Dead series by Barb Hendee is a more "high fantasy", unique sort of take on the vampire genre. But if you like fantasy (elves, wolves with human-like minds, and so forth) then I highly recommend this series as well.

One of the most interesting and unique takes on vampires has to come from Octavia Butler's Fledgling. A marvelous creation and truly worth a read.

Charlie Huston has a vampire mystery series starting with Already Dead. It's more gritty, dark fantasy than horror, but it can be very graphic and takes place in a noirish, alterna-Manhattan.

I, myself, have stayed away from the Twilight series after reading the first book and a bit of the second. The fact that the protagonists are all teenagers tends to remove a lot of what makes vampire novels so attractive and if you liked Anne Rice you'll definitely notice the difference.

Laurell K. Hamiltons novels were good at one point, but now they just feel mass produced. Same stands for Anita Blake's series. But that's my 2 cents.

I've had non-stop homework since school started. This is my relax time. Other than that, not bad.
