You mean a mid-season hiatus break? I'm not sure they did that last year I don't remember. I think it's because it's only 13 episodes a season and not 20 like SGA which did have a mid-season break. Btw, 'hiatus' is spelled with a "U".

No. 13 is too small for a SyFy hiatus unless you count Christmas
