Lost Producers Comment on Leaked Footage- Lindelof and Cuse discuss the final season and the shows ongoing mysteries.
US, January 30, 2010 - Saturday night sees Lost's big screening on the beach in Honolulu, with the cast and creators in attendance -- along with several thousand fans -- as the first half of the two-hour premiere is shown. Friday night however, a smaller party was held for the show here in Hawaii, which I attended for IGN TV. I was among a group who had a chance to speak to the men behind the curtain, Lost showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, to find out more about what's to come in this eagerly awaited final season.
Also a point of discussion was the opening scene of Season 6, which leaked online today – though just how accidental a leak was up for debate, considering ABC had sent out the footage to contest winners. Lindelof and Cuse discussed that footage now being available, along with what it might hint at. If you are avoiding watching that opening scene, beware of Spoilers below – though I'll warn again when the specific questions pertaining to that sequence begin and end.

Megan in Toluca Lake: Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. The new Lost promo is insane. Will we really find out why they are on the Island? And what is up with Locke?
.As you know, I just got back from the show's set in Oahu and I'll be hurling a whole slew of scoop at you tomorrow, plus posting the first Lost Redux tomorrow night. But in the meantime, can we just talk about the awesomeness that is Terry O'Quinn?
In the promo above, you see that Terry's character will most likely be the one to reveal what the Island is, and what the whole show has been about. Holy. Freaking. Goosebumps. When I was on the set in Hawaii, I saw quite a few scoopy reveals (and signed a confidentiality agreement to go along with it), but I was kindly escorted off set before they shot a big night scene with Matthew Fox and Terry. Terry talks about that very scene in the video clip above and adds: "It was four pages of the history of the Island." How awesome does that sound?
As you know by now, Terry is playing someone other than John Locke when the show returns tomorrow night. So who is he? Terry's clue (which almost caught the eye of producer Carlton Cuse—whoopsie!) will give confirmation to some of you, and get others of you thinking. It's not too spoilery, but it's fun and it's all in the video at top. Keep reading down below for a little more Lost scoop...
Randall in Omaha: What did you think of the premiere?
More on that tomorrow, but it's probably my favorite episode since the pilot. If anyone of you were in Hawaii and saw it, let me know what you thought in the comments below (without giving away any spoilers, please!). And check back tomorrow for more scoop.
David in Rhode Island: Will there be resolution about Claire and Jack? Will he find out they're related?
According to Matthew Fox, yes! He says the fans will be satisifed and that will not be left hanging.
Edward in New York: Will Ben Linus get any more honest this season?
According to Michael Emerson, no. "I have always meant to be forthright, it's just that sometimes you get in a pinch and your mission requires that you fudge the truth a ilttle and get things done!" That said, when you meet the new big bad you will see that Ben is a cowering puppy dog in comparison.

Widmore, Ben, Locke, Jacob, Man in Black... will we ever find out who the good guys really are on Lost? — Lin
MICKEY: We asked Josh Holloway, who portrays Sawyer, one ethically complicated dude, what he thinks. "I think the whole beauty of this show and the intrigue has been the constant question of what is good and what is bad and what is right or wrong," he says. "That is the entire crux of the show, so no, you're never going to get a clear picture. You're going to be left with that question to answer for yourself." Next you'll be telling me the numbers are just... numbers!

Lost: Juliet May Be Dead, But She's Not Gone
Poor Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell). As if falling into the Swan hatch and exploding the bomb wasn't enough of a sendoff at the close of Lost's Season 5, she died in the final season opener in Sawyer's arms — after a final kiss and a mysterious message. While fans are still mourning the loss of Dr. Burke, TVGuide.com jumped on the phone with Mitchell, who's shooting ABC's alien-invasion drama V in Vancouver. The 39-year-old actress says that Juliet may be dead, but Mitchell is returning to Hawaii soon as the show winds down. So who was Juliet asking to coffee? What does "it worked" mean?

'Lost' announces final air date
The network formally announced that the series' end will air from 9 to 11pm on Sunday, May 23. The two-hour episode will be followed by an hour-long recap special.
"Lost is an example of what happens when you put creativity above everything else, trust the creative vision, and take the risks required to be truly original", said ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson.
"It's a testament to staying true to the creative vision of one of the most iconic shows ever on television, and we’re giving the producers an unprecedented opportunity to respect the fans and really satisfy the viewers with a spectacular conclusion."
Lost premiered its sixth season the evening before the announcement. The premiere was the most-watched Lost telecast in two years with 10% in viewers 18 to 49 and 20% in viewers 18 to 34.

Rachel in New York: Any Sawyer and Kate scoop on Lost?
Tomorrow night on Lost Sawyer and Kate will share a beautiful and heart-wrenching scene at the end of a dock, and then another one inside of a house that might turn some Skaters into Sulieters. She sees how deep his feelings for Juliet really go, and they go very deep. (Hint: He has a ring.)
Lily in England: So glad Lost is back! Do you have any dish about my favorite characters, Jack, Sayid or Hurley?
Well, let's see: In this next ep, Jack tries to kill himself. (Sorta. And perhaps not intentionally.) And speaking of death and self-destruction, Rousseau and "the infection" come back into play. As I mentioned in the previous Redux, the final 10 or so minutes of this week's Lost are not to be missed.
Bett in Roswell, N.M.: Scoop me some Lost!
In this week's flash-sideways, Kate and Claire spend more time together and we see that Kate may be destined to be a part of Aaron's life regardless of whether they crashed on the island, and someone else might have the same destiny. Keep your eyes peeled for the surprise return of an old frenemy!

What the heck was Desmond doing on that plane? Any idea where the Lost powers that be are going with this? — Nora
MICKEY: I have some idea. If you'll recall, our friend Des has certain abilities that can supersede the time-space continuum. Is he really on that plane? When we pumped Henry Ian Cusick for scoop at the premiere in Hawaii, he would only say that off the island, Desmond is not happy. "The motivation has always been to get to Penny, and now he's got something slightly different. It's not about him, he's being more selfless. He's trying to help everyone," Cusick says.
