THE END IS NEAR FOR MULTI-LAYERED BATTLESTAR
March 13, 2009
Excerpt:
For a show about outer-space robots, Battlestar Galactica is really about what it means to be human. Empathy, betrayal, morality, justice, faith, vengeance and forgiveness have all played out on an interstellar stage as the last remnants of humanity flee their destroyed worlds and Cylon pursuers close in to exterminate them.
Don't be scared of sci-fi
Published Friday March 13th, 2009
Excerpts:
Science fiction is a genre that polarizes.
You either cringe at the idea of an all-out space battle or you delight in it.
………..
Sci-fi has the ability to reflect on today's societal conflicts while taking a step back... when done properly. True many shows out there, like Stargate and Babylon 5 get lost in the alien make-up and the effects and lose their ability to relate to the general public.
Perhaps no show on TV today puts a mirror to our current world dilemmas better than the brilliant Battlestar Galactica.
For those you haven't seen the remake, this is not your father's Battlestar.

sigpic Long before you and I were born, others beat these benches with their empty cups,
To the night and its stars, to the here and now with who we are.
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.
SyFy gleanings: News about the 'Battlestar' film, a 'Caprica' challenge, the 'Eureka' love-fest and more
On Monday, the Sci Fi Channel hosted a press screening of the “Battlestar Galactica” finale, which airs Friday. Ronald D. Moore, the show’s executive producer, made the assembled media types raise their hands and swear not to reveal anything that happens in the show’s final two hours. And I surely don’t want an angry Centurion coming after me for even hinting at any developments in the finale.
Question: I heard through the grapevine that you've seen the series finale of Battlestar Galactica. What the frak are you waiting for? Spill it! --Jacob
Spoiler:
Ausiello: Unfortunately, the producers made me sign some lame no-spoiler agreement prior to the screening. Fortunately, the name I signed was Vanity Smurf! I'm a genius! Turns out Ellen isn't the fifth cylon -- Adama's dead son is! OMGWTF, right? And that's not even the biggest twist, this is: I'm kidding! (Or am I… )
Question: Got any good scoop for the Battlestar finale? --Andrew
Spoiler:
Ausiello: This much I'll say: If you're a fan of BSG's third and current fourth seasons, then you'll probably love Friday's two-hour send-off.
