I'm having a love/hate relationship with this sig.



Not quite sure if I'll enter this as another challenge entry either. It started out as something completely different and morphed towards my usual style once I added the caps.

I really like this challenge. It's been fun working outside of my comfort zone on something new. I think it's going to keep the muse happy for a long time too.

I generally use 1366x768 because that's my computer screen resolution.

A fill layer is when you fill a transparent layer with a color and then change the layer mode (overlay/multiply/whatever) to get different coloring options. I tend to use curves, Channel Mixer, and Color Balance, not fill layers.

There are several ways to erase and blend, but I usually use masks to blend two layers. Sorry I can't help.

That's okay.

First thing to remember with masks - painting in black causes the image to become transparent, painting in white restores opacity. Try using different amounts of opacity on your paint brush to get softer effects.
Second - Try using black gradients on the mask to get a very soft transition from one image to another. Don't forget you can set the gradient to "reverse"

Your challenge this week is to do something different to what you normally do! Quite how you make your art different is up to you - some suggestions...

- if you usually make things that are bright, try pale or dark; or if your stuff tends to grungy, try for bright and clear
- if you usually use lots of stock or textures, try to make something without them
- if you usually only make sigs, try making something of a different size

Well, I think I will skip the next challenge. As much as I love to make icons but I'm staring at some of the themes and ... *shakes head* ... I have no idea how to manage those or what is meant with them.
