I had also had a go at the previous challenge (a bit late but thought I would share them anyway)

    Hope you like them

I must admit I am only using the most basic of programs (the software that is in PhotoBucket - simple but it seems to work for me ) There are other bits I've done which I might share at some point, some I like, others not so much.
Hey, I started with Photobucket too! And these are amazing! I only decided to give Gimp a try because I got tired of the limited amount of fonts that PB gives you to play with. And that you can do virtually nothing to the fonts/text. Imagine my surprise when I found out just how many different fonts Gimp came with, and that I could download even MORE fonts. To this day I hate all of those fonts on PB...no offense to the icon you made with one of those fonts. Tis a great icon. Actually I love all the Rodney/David icons. Specially the Zedpm one.

I wish I had PS...if only it wasn't so $$$$$$$$$$. I hadn't clue one how to use Gimp at first but I played around with it, hunted down tuts and pretty soon I was learning all kinds of things/new tricks. It's so much fun!

Back with some more LOTR art. I used the basics of Luciana's tut for the Eowyn sig I did yesterday to make this, though the colors and such are completely different.

            Aragorn!!! *faints*

RiG, you should definitely enter your DeanTime poster - it's brilliant

            Challenge entry.......

No, it isn't Martin, and no, I'm not sick - I just got caught up on last week's DW and got inspired

But....... I do have this one which I made a few weeks ago.......

Oh, and Mr - your first attempts with Gimp are 100% better than anything I did with it when I first got it .... and I needed instructions in words of one syllable to even get started

I never got into his character the way I did Legolas. What can I say??? But I do like how that banner came out. I used some of the hints I got from Luciana's tut for that one.

Here's a very unique take on the challenge...

...may not be my official entry. I just couldn't think of anything else to do, so, when this little idea popped into my mind I went with it!

Sha, love your sigs! I'll have to get the Gimp GAP add on too. I already have the G'MIC add on so I'll just be adding to my collection.
Thanks RiG - GAP is capable of lots more than I've used it for so far, but if you need help getting started I might be able to point you in the 'rightish' direction Hadn't heard of the G'MIC add-on (I have it now! ) ... prompts me to ask that if anyone knows of other GIMP add-ons that are useful/fun/etc I'd really love to hear about them.

Also, love the TIME cover - very cool!

                        Thanks

                        Can't wait to see that

I tried working on it last night, but I couldn't get it quite right. So I've got to think about it and work with it.

I decided to try and make my own banner to my story Braving the Storm last night. It's not as great as lg's but after two hours of working on it and searching for pics I'm happy with it.

In the meantime I used this to get started Simple Animation/ and to get the GAP add-on working I used this YouTube vid How to Install the GIMP Animation Package - it also contains a link to the download for the GAP package itself as well.
Thanks for this, I use PS but would love to try some animation sigs.

Padme, here are the screencaps I've been using for my P&P art
