Well that was fun. Half an hour ago someone fired a gun 5 times outside my house. Nothing like hitting the deck at midnight to wake you up nicely. The police found nothing. Glad there were no bleeding bodies or obvious car damage.

I live almost downtown but this is a safe (enough) area if you take care. It's usually college students with firecrackers. That was no firecracker. Idiots.

Remember waaaay back in s2 during Foothold. Sam was diguised as Daniel using one of those shape shifting devices. There wasn't even a smidgen of a joke about her being in Daniel's body (well a replica of his body). They didn't play with the idea then, and shouldn't have brought the show down to that level with Vala either

I'm sitting here watching Stargate Monday. Just watched Urgo and am now watching Upgrades. It never ceases to amaze me what a great show this used to be. What a team, what stories, what characterizations, everything was spot on.

Now what do we get, two letters, a dash and a number. No team, no stories, no characterizations. Just explosions and special effects.

You know, Urgo was wacky, but it was still Stargate. Meeting aliens & exploring the galaxy; using science to figure it out, the characters behaving "in character." sigh
