      Don't underestimate Jason. No matter how big the movie 'Conan' has the potiental to get, He may still choose to also do the SGA movie simply because of the fans that have supported him! Money is not the only thing that motivates actors!

      Jason as Conan is the perfect choice!

        Knowledge is power, but how do you use that power defines whether you are good or evil

            I fail to see how this can be a good thing for Jason Momoa other then a paycheck. If he does a horrible movie it would be alot worse for his career. First, look at what the director has already made.

            Link to reviews most of which say its complete garbage;

              I've said this in the Jason thunk thread, but I'll say here too!

              I had serious reservations when I read that Jason was up for the part, as was Supernatural's Jared Padalecki. Truthfully I didn't want either of them to get the role, for fear of being typecast - Jason especially. The people who think Ronon was a point, grunt and shoot character will jump at the chance to have him labelled as an 'all brawn and no brain' actor, which is totally untrue.

              Having said that, I wish Jason the very best of luck with the role; and I hope will help get him bigger and better roles in the future. As for the Atlantis movie .... can it really hurt to have the star of a high profile movie to drum up interest? I think not!

                  Funny I had doubts when Mcg was announced as the director of the next Terminator film and he proved me right. Seeing how poorly Terminator Salvation did, its doubtful Mc G will get do direct the next two, if they ever get made. A poor director leads to a poor movie.

                  Still one can't fully say whether a film will be any good or not till its completed, so fingers crossed for Conan.

                    there's already plans for T5 & T6 and personally i loved the movie. and we shouldn't judge jason's movie until we've seen it. this is a great opportunity for him.

                      They consider the Friday the 13th (2009) a success because it only cost 19 million to make and earned close to 92 million. Terminator Salvation had a budget of 200 million and earned around 372 million worldwide. I didn't think Terminator Salvation was horrible, people are hard on MCG because the first two movies were so good they don't want to see the franchise ruined.

                      Conan the Barbarian is one of my favorite movies, perhaps they should make it so he's the son of Conan or something.

                          Headlining a movie, even a "lesser" movie, is a big achievement for a television actor. Many working TV actors aspire to make a jump to the big screen, and getting a leading role is a big deal.

                          Not every movie costs $100 million and gets worldwide distribution by a major studio. But it's still a step up for Jason.
