TP’s Hive, Episode 14, Viva Las Vegas?
TP contemplates the mindboggling nature of AUs as well as how far wraith and human have come together here in her universe – and Spike makes it clear he was not impressed with Las Vegas!
Spoiler:“Well, he’s certainly perked up!” Eddie observes as Spike bounces into the worshippers lounge.
“He was hardly all doom and gloom before!” Todd rebukes.
“True, but he did have a big cloud over his head that’s gone now,” Aurel agrees.
TP smiles quietly to herself. Since Spike unburdened his nightmares to her a couple of nights ago a weight has lifted off his shoulders. She supposes that, at least in his eyes anyway, that’s in no small part due to her having forgiven him on behalf of her AU self.
She’s asked herself countless times in the last 48 hours if she really would have sacrificed herself for Spike. She thinks she would for the others, and she knows she would for Steve – lord knows she’s dreamt it often enough! But for Spike? She reminds herself that she’s loved Steve much longer and that her AU self only knew Spike, and that makes it much easier to imagine sacrificing herself for him.
She’s been thinking a lot about alternate universes recently, wondering how many of her are out there and what they’re doing. It’s utterly mind-boggling to think of the billions of different paths her life might have taken after every tiny little decision she ever made – and every single one of them is being played out somewhere out there in other universes.
She watches as her boys lark around, laughing and winding each other up, and wonders what their AU selves might be like. She knows deep down they’re dangerous, clever predators but in the last year – especially after the civil war and her becoming their Primary – they’ve been moving towards a softer, more spiritual way of life. Todd tells her they’re reverting back to the way wraith were originally, in their ancient history.
She wonders if there’s a universe out there where wraith had never lost touch with their ancient roots in the first place, and what they would be like now… or a universe where they had drifted so far away from it that they were irredeemably doomed never to find their way back to what they really are.
She shakes her head and brings herself back to her own universe, the one that she is eternally grateful to be living in. She looks up and realises that Todd had been speaking to her. “Sorry, I was light years away. What were you saying?” she asks him.
“When are we going to get this young wraith’s casino started?” he repeats patiently. He bends down and whispers to her in a conspiratorial tone. “You are the Primary after all, Snuggle Bunny – I have to at least pretend to ask your permission.”
“Since when did you need my permission for anything?” she whispers back and surreptitiously kisses his cheek. She smiles as she stands up and loudly proclaims, “Let’s get this casino built!”
*
“What? No neon lights? No blaring disco music, no fake Elvises in plastic chapels?” Eddie looks on at the preparations.
“Don’t tell me you’re disappointed, Eddie,” Spike laughs. “Even your taste isn’t that bad!”
Eddie tries to hiss at Spike but laughs as well and it comes out as a shuddering snort, which makes him fall about laughing at himself.
“So, what was it really like?” Greg asks.
“Bright, noisy, crowded, crass and crude,” Spike replies, “where humans preyed on humans, exploiting each other with impunity; where greed obliterated honour, cowardice smothered courage and manipulation drowned out integrity.”
“Wow, heavy... but not all humans are like that, Spike,” SW points out. “In fact I can’t think of anyone on the Chill-out Hive, or any other hive in the alliance for that matter, who wouldn’t think living in a place like Las Vegas would be bad for your soul.”
“TP would like the lights!” Greg laughs.
“TP likes anything that glitters,” Seth qualifies.
“I think she prefers the fireflies of Delta Prime or the glitter sands on Kronos,” Steve adds.
Aurel snuggles SW. “All our girls are more in tune with the cosmos than most humans,” he says proudly.
“So it’s not ‘Viva Las Vegas’ then?” Eddie asks.
“Nah,” says Spike, smiling, “Here is the best place to be.”
“Viva The Chill-out Hive!” the boys cheer in unison.sigpicThanks to Draco-Stellaris for the gorgeous Todd avatar

TP’s Hive, Season 4, Episode 15, Forgiveness and Commitment
Two little snapshots show just how impossible it is for TP to choose any one of her boys over another – but also explain why Steve is just that teeny bit special…
Spoiler:Forgiveness
“Seth, baby, have you seen Steve today?”
“He’s sulking,” Seth replies, doing a pretty good imitation of sulking himself.
“Why? What have I done?”
“There, you see?” Seth says sharply, turning to Spike. “She automatically thinks it must be something she’s done! He’s so controlling!”
“I think it’s probably more something I won’t do than something I’ve done that’s the problem!” TP laughs. When neither Seth nor Spike laugh back, she looks back and forth between them, puzzled. “Don’t take on so, Seth. Steve will give up badgering me eventually.”
Spike is the one to answer. “It’s not that per se that’s bothering him, Babe. It’s just that Steve makes vivid mental pictures – poor Seth was getting nauseated. But Todd is making Steve focus on other things now.”
“I suppose he can get a bit intense,” TP mutters, flushing with embarrassment for Steve.
“It’s okay, Babe,” Spike reassures her, “We all know he probably thinks he loves you more than all of us put together – but that doesn’t mean that we don’t love you as much as he does.”
TP’s eyes flash up to Spike’s. “Don’t think for even a moment that I would ever think that!” she says. “I know you all love me as much as I love you.”
“So you don’t love him more than you love all of us put together, then?” Seth asks sarcastically.
“No!” TP retorts, “I’m offended you’d even think that!” She looks at both Seth and Spike for several minutes, her initial glare of outrage retreating into one of pleading. “I don’t love him more than you, or better then you, just… differently. I don’t know why he’s different but he just is… somehow…”
She turns from Seth’s accusing expression and starts to pace the room. “Don’t you think if I loved any of you any less than him I wouldn’t have done what he asked already and run away with just him? How can I choose any one of you over the others? If I could tear myself into pieces and give myself exclusively to all of you I would!”
“Shades of King Solomon?” Spike murmurs.
“And if you did try to cut yourself in half, I’d be the first one to give you up in order to stop you,” Seth says quietly. “I did it before, remember?”
TP wrings her hands. “You think I could ever forget that? When you left me you tore a hole in my heart!”
Suddenly, all the resentment in him disappears and Seth looks down at the floor, shame-faced. “I left you bleeding,” he says quietly, “And Steve was the one who stitched you up again.”
“Well, I guess that’s gonna leave it’s mark,” Spike shrugs and wanders into TP’s kitchen, figuring a strong espresso is called for.
“How can you forgive what I did to you?” Seth murmurs.
“I can forgive any of you anything,” she says, flinging her arms around Seth and burying her tears in his hair. “I forgive you for leaving me, I forgive Steve for wanting to possess me – I even forgive Spike for killing me!” she whispers against his neck. “I love you – all of you.”
Commitment
“You have to give it a rest, Babe,” TP tells Steve gently the next day. “The others are sensing your feelings and they’re losing patience with you.”
“I can’t help it!” Steve pleads.
“Yes you can, hon,” she counters. “I’m not like that worshipper you lost long ago; I’m safe and I’m not going anywhere. You’ll never lose me, ever. You don’t need to feel insecure or afraid anymore.”
He leans forward, his elbows on his knees, and stares at his own hands as he steeples his fingers.
“You know you’re special to me, Steve,” TP adds.
“I know, it’s just…”
“You’re the original Doubting Thomas and you need proof,” TP says gently. Steve looks away from her and pouts, knowing he’s being unreasonable.
Suddenly, she sees it again – her wolf hovering just behind Steve’s profile, their faces shifting like spectres, morphing and drifting, one to the other and back again.
“That’s it,” she whispers.
“What?” Steve says and turns wolf eyes on her.
“My wolf,” she tells him. “I never see my wolf in anyone but you.”
She drops to her knees in front of him where he sits on her sofa and takes his hands in hers, watching the constant fluctuation between Steve and wolf, wolf and Steve.
“Remember that old wise woman who told me she could see your fetch over my shoulder? She said you and my spirit guide wolf had merged and that you’d see me safely to the other side when my time comes.”
Steve smiles as he recalls when she had first told him the story, then tells her, “I’m coming with you anyway.”
“Don’t be silly – you’re virtually immortal.”
“I’ll find a way,” Steve says and presses a fingertip gently to TP’s lips to silence her protest. “How could I go on existing without you? Besides, my life is yours already anyway.”
Knowing there’s nothing she can say or do to change his mind, TP simply answers, “Well, you’ll better keep me alive for a ridiculously long time then.”
She sits beside Steve, sinking into the soft sofa and snuggling into his side, leaning into him as he pulls her close. She trails her hand down his arm, revelling in the feel of his smooth skin, then on the next stroke, the sensation of thick, lush fur, then skin, then fur again. She nuzzles her face into his hair and takes a deep breath of the faint jasmine-and-spice smell of him. She smiles as the scent shifts between that and the smell of fur, damp with rainwater and with a hint of pine needles.
She allows the soft sound of his contentment to carry her into a sleepy trance, where the sound oscillates between his purring and a gentle, wolf-like growl.
“My Steve,” she murmurs softly, “My wolf…”sigpicThanks to Draco-Stellaris for the gorgeous Todd avatar

AND FINALLY FOR THIS PARTICULAR STORYLINE...
TP’s Hive Season 4, Episode 16, A Heart That Grows
As usual the rollercoaster ride with the 3 Ss is not truly over for TP until she spends time with Todd who is always able to ground her emotionally.
Spoiler:“I could just pull rank, of course,” Todd says with a wry grin.
“But you wouldn’t,” TP says without hesitation, then adds, “And I could just run away with him.”
“But you wouldn’t,” Todd replies, still smiling.
TP sighs heavily and Todd reaches out to her, pressing his cool hand to her flushed cheek and then brushing her hair over her shoulder. “It’s getting long now,” he says. She raises an eyebrow and he nods to the shank of hair he holds in his hand. “Your hair; it’s almost longer than mine – are you aiming for Steve’s length now?” he teases.
TP sighs again and looks away without answering.
“I thought you’d resolved things with him? He seems happy again,” Todd says gently, still stroking her hair.
“I have and he is.”
“So why the big sighs?”
“Because the rest of you still don’t seem happy.”
Todd shrugs. “They’ll settle down again soon,” he says.
“They?” TP asks. “So you’re already settled? Or you won’t settle?”
Todd gives a short, soft laugh. “I was never unsettled in the first place. I know you’d never leave me, not even for Steve.” He pulls TP into his arms and settles back on the sofa with her. She lifts her legs and tucks them under her as she snuggles close into him.
“You and Greg have never been jealous,” she states happily.
“There’s never been any need. I know we’re all special to you and SW in our own different ways.” Todd strokes his thumb in little circles just under TP’s ear, in the way he’s learned always soothes her, no matter how stressed she’s feeling.
“Remember that Greg and I are significantly older,” he goes on. “The ancient ways were long before even our time, but we are old enough to remember the stories of how wraith and human used to live in perfect harmony.
“The way we live now – all interconnected and interdependent in our group – it’s strange and needs some adapting, but I truly believe it’s the best way for all of us.”
Todd falls silent for a few moments and listens to TP’s breathing settle into a calmer rhythm. He dips his head to make sure she hasn’t fallen asleep. “Spike told me you said you wished you could split yourself into pieces for us all,” he says.
“Sometimes I think it would be easier… maybe I should clone myself.”
“Then Steve would just insist he gets the original!” Todd laughs. “He’ll always want more.” He feels TP shrug despondently in his arms and adds, “You don’t need to spilt yourself into pieces – your heart is big enough for all of us. No matter how many wraith joined our group, your heart would just grow to accommodate them.”
TP looks at Todd sideways through her deep auburn hair. “You’re right,” she sighs. “But it’s not easy some days, carrying around a twenty pound heart!”
Todd laughs and kisses the top of her head. “That’s what we’re for – to help you carry your load so your heart is light as a feather!”
TP lifts her head and looks Todd in the eye, pausing a moment before she tells him, “You do know that there will always be a tiny little corner in my heart that’s only his?” She hides behind the curtain of her hair again, but when she sees Todd is still smiling, she flicks her hair over her shoulder with a defiant toss of her head and, with a mischievous grin, she adds, “And the rest of you will just have to learn to live with that!”
In reply, Todd merely draws her closer and kisses her in a way that leaves no doubt that he fully understands and accepts this and loves her no less for it. All of a sudden she realises that, as always, Todd is right: her heart, as big as it is, is light as a feather.sigpicThanks to Draco-Stellaris for the gorgeous Todd avatar

I have to agree TP, these fics are truely wonderful. And so happy that TP was able to reconcile her heart in such a way
Michael: Might I add, TP isn't the only worshipper who likes glitter
Heee.... glittery glitter...If found, is probably lost on the way to Azaroth or the Pegasus Galaxy

Thanks, Dray, that's praise indeed
Glitter - and bubbles! Oooh, that reminds me - PA suggested we have a party in the COH on Friday night to try to recapture some of the good old days!
Adults only (sorry WW, honey - someone will have to babysit Christhart! )
Chocolate wrestling for our wraithy boys and cocktails, bubbles and glitter for us - not forgetting, of course, the inevitable treat of clean-up time at the end!
Shall we say about 9- 9.30pm GMT? Hopefully not too early to fizzle out too soon before the later folks get theresigpicThanks to Draco-Stellaris for the gorgeous Todd avatar

Sounds good to me. How long I stay will depend on my back, though.
That'll be because Todd's usually logical and reasonable and helps TP keep her feet on the ground He's not "romantic" in the usual sense but he loves her to bits and she knows that and is secure in it
Steve's massages are very soothing - he'd be happy to rub your back for you at the partysigpicThanks to Draco-Stellaris for the gorgeous Todd avatar
