John had just sat there trying to keep his big bag out of the way of everyone else, he seemed to have zoned out than realized that three more people walked in. "Hello, I am Major Johnathan Ezekiel, transfer from the beta site."

Rowena turned to the man, straightened up a little and eyed him over, a skeptical, upturned nose indicating her disgust. They weren't in the office to make small talk after all.

She brought herself up to full (lack of) height and saluted him, trying to keep that air of disgust out of her voice. "Cadet Rowena Clayton, SG7. Sir."
      Yepp, it's blank down here.

"It is good to meet you cadet." John said, trying to sound pleasant, but noticing the cadet was a little reluctant to talk. He than got up and said, "Here you can have my seat, if you would like."

"You were here first, Sir," she replied coldly, the sneering expression returning to her face. "I may be female, Sir, but I am no less an officer for it. I do not require your chivalry. It serves no purpose here."

Rowena turned her back on the officer and walked to the other side of the room, where she stood stiffly and silently.

John sat back down after the reaction of the Cadet. He let out a slight sigh, and turned his attention to just looking at the different things in the office.

(( OOC – Since almost all the new folks are here anyway, I’ll do this now.

In order to make the RPG experience easier for everyone, Player and Lurkers (we have quite a few), please, Please, PLEASE, try to follow the basic rules of written English. Capitalization, punctuation, sentences and spelling. Use quote marks around anything being spoken. Use Italics for anything that is thought. Some people use color highlights for speech and thoughts as well.
In addition, please READ the previous posts in a thread before you jump into a situation. If in doubt whether you’ll be welcome, PM the people involved and ask. Players set up scenes which they wish to play out in a certain way.
One more thing – You do NOT have to have a conversation with the General before you can go about your business. Assume that you have reported in and been given a room assignment. Otherwise you’ll be sitting here for a long, long time. Rowena! Sit! Stay! ))

After sitting for a few hours John was dismissed by the Sgt. and went to find his quarters.

"Major, you key card." The Sgt. handed him before he walked out.

"Thank you." John said taking the card. He look at it while picking up his big bag. Off to level 7, now.

((Hermione was last seen heading to her office, but never made it, it seems))

Hermione walked into the office and raised her eyebrows at the gathering there. She nodded discreetly at Rowena, a greeting, showing that she cared, but also acknowledging her daughter's deep dislike of their relationship being discussed in public. No-one wanted to be known as the shrink's daughter.

Lancaster turned her attention to Cal and perched on the edge of her desk, smiling at the young woman. "I'm going to assume he's still not talking to me," she said, semi-jokingly, as she tilted her head in the direction of the briefing room.

She helf her hand up to silence Mykonos. "No need to answer that, Callista," she smiled. "I was actually here to talk to you, if you don't mind?" The indication towards the inner office, plus the subtlety of the intonation left no doubt that the question was rhetorical.

Hermione looked over at Rowena. "Rowena," she said softly, "If anyone arrives, take their name and rank. Looks like the General has a lot of people to see, so you might want to ask-"

"I'm not a secretary," spat Rowena in disgust.

"No," replied Hermione calmly, "But you are a Cadet, and I'm a Colonel."

She tried to conceal her amusement at Rowena's petulant glare, noting how she didn't argue with that logic, unlike the usual 'I'm your mother' 'so what?' exchange that usually passed between them.

Hermione walked to the door of the inner office, and nodded for Callista to go inside.

Larry walked to the office, not so much being escorted by the SF as just leading him along as a formality. He hadn't really broken a direct order, but he'd sure as hell make sure Blue didn't give Kate any crap for it.

As he entered the door, he said to Mykonos a bit to formally. "Sgt, I need to speak to the General. I have an update for the zat/p90 modifications, and also I need to speak to him about a personal matter, and it relates to my team. It's probably a technicality issue, but I need to speak with him" He figured Mykonos already knew what he was talking about, so he didn't elaborate further. He merely stood there, awaiting her response.
"Captain," her tone made it a question about the formality, "The General is in a meeting. He may be some time. So, unless you really feel like waiting, I'd be happy to let him know that you stopped by." She gave him a small smile and tucked his name directly after Cadet Clayton's. "Where will you be? I'll give you a call as soon as he's available."

Mykonos let out a long sigh, a private talk with Dr. Lancaster always led where she didn't want to go. Automatically, she put her computer on Stand-by and got up.
"Thank you, Cadet. I appreciate you filling in for a while." Cal walked into the General's private office and stood At Ease in front of the desk.

Hermione closed the doors, both those that led into the briefing room and the outer office, before indicating that Cal should take a seat. She herself sat on the edge of the table, looking at her feet as she swung them slightly, letting out a sigh that matched Cal's.

"Why is it that everyone looks like a child in detention when I ask for a chat?" she asked, semi-rhetorically. She smiled at the sergeant. "How's things?" she asked, leaving the question open for her interpretation.

Hermione nodded, then looked back towards the ground for a moment. She glanced back up to look at Callista. "I meant with you. You've got a lot to deal with, Callista, and babysitting-" she filled in the blank with an incline of the head towards the briefing room, "- can't be helping."

The younger woman shrugged, "I'm used to it, for the most part."
She shot a look toward the Briefing room door. "The interruptions make for a long day sometimes," she tried to laugh, "and meal service can be lousy."
