Wohooo! This looks very, very good for a fourth series
He's like fire, ice and rage. He's like the night, and the storm in the heart of the sun.
He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.

Torchwood stars among celebs coming to Glyndwr University
              10 July 2009

HIT TV show Torchwood is coming to North East Wales this autumn.

Two stars of the smash-hit BBC sci-fi series will be among the guests at Wales Comic Con 2009 at Glyndwr University in Wrexham on September 27.

The event, being held for the second time in Wrexham, gives fans the chance to meet the stars of film and television up close and personal.

This year, organisers promises something "bigger and better", with a line-up which includes Gareth David-Lloyd, who plays Ianto Jones in TORCHWOOD and Katy Wix, who appears as Ianto's sister Rhiannon in the show.

Also on hand will be Ian Whyte, who played the Predator in both Alien vs Predator movies, Neil Roberts, who portrayed the Warlock, Rex Buckland in Charmed, and also featured in Stargate.

To be held in the sports hall at Glyndwry from 10am-5pm, tickets to the event are priced at £5 for adults and £3 for under-14s on the door.

I'm glad you liked the show, and love that it made you respond so strongly. I can't reply to everyone, it'd take weeks, so please accept my thanks.

But the rest of the messages? Unacceptable. Some have been spewing insults and passive aggressive nonsense. Accusing me of deliberately trying to mislead, lie, and hurt people. Telling me I hate the fans, that I'm laughing at them, that I used them, that I'm slapping people in the face, that I've "killed" the show, that I'm a homophobe, that I want to turn the fanbase away and court new, "cooler" viewers, even that I'm hurting depressed people with dark storylines. Asking me to pass on vitriolic, hateful messages to people I love and respect.

                      Not cool.

These are all things that nobody would dare to say to me in person. But on the internet, it's easy for them to fire off these things. Forgetting that at the other end is me, a real person, someone who has been nothing but open and friendly. But I've been a bit too open, a bit too nice, a bit too willing to explain the thought process behind story decisions. And some people are taking advantage of that, or misinterpreting what it means.

It's one of the reasons I don't hang out in the main sections of the forum anymore. And even with my limited presence here I've still been attacked and misinterpreted. I've built up a tolerance to it, though. I'm sure James has, too, but I can understand his frustration... although I imagine his must be even greater since he was actually involved with the production itself. At least he's handled it a lot better than SOME Powers That Be do: he didn't sink to their level.

John Barrowman talks 'Torchwood: Children of Earth'

I'm preparing a feature/review of "Torchwood: Children of Earth," a five-night miniseries that airs on BBC America starting July 20. Based on a viewing of the first three episodes, I posted this rave about the miniseries. I've now seen all five episodes of "Children of Earth" and all I can say is ... I have to watch the last two hours again. I'm still mulling those final installments over, to say the least (it's all I can do not to go to UK Web sites and look for "Torchwood" assessments; the miniseries aired there last week).

You think so? I thought his blog entry was utterly pathetic and he is now noted in my books as a <Snipped by Moderator>. He shouldn't have said anything at all. That way he would have at least kept some of his dignity.
